Recommend a 20 inch upper

I'm going to build another AR to replace the 20 incher that I traded away. Who would your recommend for a 20 inch flat top upper in 1/7 chrome lined, MPI?

If you want a 20", 1:8 and the best upper out, take a hard look at the JP CTR-02.

I am in the same boat. I have been looking hard at the JP, but it is too expensive for me at this time. Try Rock River. Legal Transfers seem to have the best prices.

I've been looking at the CMMG medium contour. It seems to have the features that I want. I wish Bravo Company would do a run of 20 inchers.

PK has Bushmaster in 1:7 for $380, which IIRC is minus the BCG and CH.

The Colt looks like another great choice.

Both BCM and Charles Daly are rumored to have them around Q1 '09.

Based on personal experience, that of a close friend, and plenty I've read, I recommend seeking alternatives to CMMG.

I'm in the market for the same thing. I purchased a lower last week and decided that's the direction to go. I really want a 20" BCM but Bravo's website says Mid-2009. I don't know if I can wait that long. :)

Haven't I read that Grant has built some uppers for folks? Maybe I'm imagining it, I couldn't find the thread I was thinking of.

I looked on Grant's web site and didn't see any 20 inch barrels. I plan on building the lower next weekend - should have all of the parts by then.

I take it your assembling your upper from parts? If so is this your first? This is my first build and I feel confident enough on the upper but I'm not sure I'm ready to tackle the upper yet. Looks like it's more exacting. I'm planning to get an assembled upper I guess. Just not sure who.

If your looking for a used 20'',I was thinking about selling my upper,it has a colt HB with 1/7 NATO 5.56 chrome lined barrel,not sure of the upper it's self,but it is a A2 with carry handle type.It does have a M16 bolt and carrier.Just thought I'd throw that in there.
