What would be your thoguhts about a possible G26? This would be a G26 slide and barrel on a G19 grip.

Hmmm. I would hope they would do a Glock 19 grip with 17 slide first.

It's what the market wants. The 17 grip with 19 slide was a way to recollect funds for the MHS fiasco that they lost out on due to politics.

Them spending development money on a 19grip 3.2" barreled upper doesn't bode well for them for recouping costs with a lot of sales.

They would sell, no matter what, but like the 19x they would be 200 dollars over market value due to a lower demand than, say, a standard 19.

I agree with you, mostly. I think there is an admittedly limited market for people who like the grip of the G19 better due to hand size and placement of the hump who don't want to use magazine spacers and would like to have a shorter slide for concealment, appendix or IWB carry, and a faster draw.

What made me even think of this is the G19X which, ironically, I find not interesting due to the size of my hands. For my hands the G19 grip is the Goldie Locks Glock. Shorter is not preferred and longer is just not necessary.

I'm with this guy. Make it an MOS and I am on it like white on rice.

A 26X could have some merits. I think a G43X would be very popular since many people who carry a G43 appendix use +2 and +3 extensions regularly.

I'd buy a G26 grip on a G19 slide.

Maybe one of these days I'll get one professionally chopped.

For those who are considering a G19 slide assembly on a G26 frame (on the left using Gen4 versions), or a G17gen5 slide on a G19gen5 frame (on the right), either can be done right now. The front end of the recoil spring assembly will show however.

This may be something to try before actually "chopping" a Glock frame's grip just in case it's not what's really wanted.

Can you just buy a G17 and cut the grip down to a G19 grip size?

Yes. You could.

But that modification isn't cheap. A factory offering should be cheaper and not require losing most of your resale value.

That would be even more retarded then the 19X, what we need is a 19L and maybe a 26L.

If you what to talk about a single stack, let's talk about a 17 and 19 size single stack

G26X makes very little sense to me, personally, but I too would be all over a MOS 19 frame with a 17 slide. Just shows how slow Glock is to "innovate", if that's even an appropriate term for something so simple. I imagine it would cost them almost nothing extra to make something like that.

For a 19L, it would either need to have another mold built (this is the expensive method) or they start milling dedicated 19L slides that have a beefier front end to close the small gap made by the shorter 19 frame.

Either way, both would be acceptable, and they both would be significantly cheaper than trying to do it through third party services.

If they make a new mold, though, just like with the 19x, we're talking 650-699 for it. Use existing mold, add a little metal and some machine time, probably closer to the 500-575 we would expect.

Of course, going that method may frustrate some people who firmly believe in Frame Meeting Muzzle due to CQB OutOfBattery On Muzzle Contact.

YMMV.

For those of you who really want a 19L, Brownells makes a 17 length slide for the 19 frame. It’s about 300 bucks and only works on the gen3 frames.

It’s an even dumber idea than the 19x, and the 19x borders on profoundly autistic.

I bet most people that want a G19L own a Surefire.

The same way as a 1911 Commander completely stupid?

Seems like I’m in the minority but I’m very satisfied with the 19 as-is. If a “26x” fires you up, more power to you. I just don’t see the practical “why.”

I'd rather have a factory version of a chopped 19 that takes current Gen 4 slides. I have no use for a shorter barrel with the same size grip. I didn't get it on the 19x and I wouldnt on this. The hardest part of a handgun to conceal is the grip not the barrel.

Since we're free associating what "we want", I'd like to see a G43 with a grip long enough to take 8-10 round mags.

Factory 9x25 with a 5-6” barrel.

If we're going there, what about a 21SF with a 36 width slide?

G26 frame and G17L slide. That's the ticket.

The practical "why" would be concealment

Maybe if you're carrying in a shoulder holster.

This is a pic of my G26 with an XGrip and G19 mag...basically what the 26X would look like...

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180522/4c9f4201ad1f622a7c938393434da2f6.jpg

I bought my first Glock (G23 Gen 4) when I found out about Blue Labels in 2010 and I was hooked. My second was the G26 above. Love the gun, but wanted more capacity during road trips. Bought a G19 mag and the XGrip in a whim. Loved this gun and it led to purchasing a pair of G19’s.

Now, when I carry the G26, it has a Glock or Magpul 12 round mag which gives me the stability I want, so the XGrip and 15 round mag are mainly stored in the vehicle for “just in case”.

Bottom line for me, it’s probably not something I’d go for, but to each their own...
