Hi all,
We keep a 500 in a lockbox downstairs that my wife and I both train with.
It was chosen for the ambi safety as I am a lefty and my wife is a righty.
Tonight I was startled by a loud thump outside. I did a quick walk around and cursed the lack of a light as it was dusk. In my rush outside I forgot a handheld.
No more of this, I need to mount a light.
My 6720 is kept upstairs in our room and I didn't want to run upstairs to grab that, which has a light mounted.
I have been looking around at what I could find on line and it looks like most mounts will have the light clocked to one side or the other.
Is there something that can put the light at the 6 o-clock position? I'm hoping that would make it easy for either of us to turn on.
Thanks!

There are a few different companies that make forends with integrated lights at the 6’oclock position. The controls on them are ambidextrous. A quick internet search will bring them up.

I have a Surefire DSF on my HD shotgun, it is fully ambidextrous. They are not cheap (you may catch a break on the EE/used market) and they are heavy, but they are quality and will kick out 200 or 600 lumens, have momentary and constant-on switches on both sides and a kill switch to avoid unitentional light activation say during transport or light discipline ops, etc. If you find something better let me know.

BTW, I am also left handed so I wanted an ambidextrous weapon but went with Remington 870P, to accomplish that I replaced the standard stock with a Speedfeed IV-S and install a Vang Comp Big Dome safety. What that did for me is give a pistol grip which placed my hand in such a manner that allowed me swipe off the cross-safety with my thumb similar to a 1911. I know this has nothing to with your thread, but many believe the 870 is not lefty compatible and thought I'd share my work around solution.

Is it a standard 500 or a 500 tactical 6 or 8 shot?

It is a longer tube. I can’t remember if it is. 6 or 8 shot.

Not a fan of the fore end lights.

To me, this would seem to be your least expensive ambi version:

TRL-1 Weaponlight: https://holsterops.com/collections/flashlights/products/streamlight-model-tlr-1-tactical-rail-mounted-light

For push button Ambi:

ETA: I have an RLS. You don't have to use the light that comes with the unit.

Magpul 500 forearm with the light(lots of options) mounted at 6 o'clock (I think one of their cantilevers would be best) and a pressure switch on the side...one of you would operate it with a thumb while the other would hit it with fingertips.

Standard is 6 shot, they include the chambered round as one of those.

Mossberg now offers a tri railed hand guard, replaces the stock fore end, that may or may not suite your needs.
