None. With surplus ammo gone and no US made I see no point in having a bolt gun using Russian commercial ammo that has no consistency. Maybe if ppu started make ammo

I vote no.

With cheap 7N6 surplus off the table, I just don't see any point.

The existing American Ranch in 223 that uses AR mags would do everything one in 5.45 could with the added benefit of having far superior ammo availability.

If someone started making boxer primed ammo and bullets, maybe...

Yea, I stopped buying 5.45x39 when 7n6 dried up, and none of the commercial loads shot as well out of my AR upper, although the Wolf Premium was close. I recently got in to 6.5Grendel for Wolf steel and for me it’s better than 5.45 and just as cheap. And there’s several bolt guns chambered in 6.5 G. At least I’ve still got enough cases of it stacked to keep me shooting for a while.

5.45x39 is a good caliber but beyond AK74s there’s just not many options. Although the PSA AR that takes AK74 mags that was announced at SHOT this year might help.

The Ruger Am. Predator in 6.5G is tempting though.

That caliber is only fun when running it in original import 74's or perhaps an SSG 82.

More of a cold war collector type thing.

I wish my ruger american could take ar mags. Mine is chambered in 762x39

I had both the 762x39 Mini Thirty mag and a 556 AR mag American. I will say I much preferred the Mini mags. They were very secure in the magazine well with almost no movement where the AR mags would wobble back and forth.

BTW there’s a video on the net of someone who took the AR magwell from their 5.56 Ranch and swapped it in their 7.62x39 Ranch, it worked. Bad part is that Ruger will not sell a magwell. But seems like another model to offer, and uses all off the shelf parts. Or just sell the darn magwell as an accessory.
And both Ruger Ranch’s were the newer ones with the modular magwell, don’t think any swap is possible in the older ones that were rotary mag only.
And I broke down and picked up a Predator in 6.5g. Will find out tomorrow how it shoots with cheap Wolf steel.
