Very sad.

For sure very sad, local news stated multiple fatalities.

Of course all local news in area are VERY lib, more gun control restrictions probably are already being written in Annapolis & our RINO governor will sign them.

Heard it was a shotgun that was used. It won't matter though; they'll either just say "imagine how much worse it would be with an assault weapon! More proof we need stricter bans!" or "Nobody needs a pump action shotgun. Australia banned them, so we should too!"

Why does the ATF deploy to these mass shootings other than to trace where the weapon(s) came from?

Seriously would you rather pick your nose in the office all day or go on field trips. I bet there is some sort of "per diem" involved for some of these folk.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/us/live-news/maryland-newspaper-shooting/index.html

Police are executing a search of an address associated with the suspect, law enforcement officials tell CNN.

They believe the suspect had a some interaction with an executive at the newspaper previously, one of the sources said. The source cautioned that this is preliminary information, and the investigation is just beginning.

The suspect is described as being in his 30s.

Yep. And if he happened to be shouting "Allah'u akbar" while doing this, both the media and the FBI will immediately rule out radical Islam as a motivation.

Jarrod Warren Ramos has been identified as Capital Gazette shooter in Annapolis, Maryland. This is your “white” suspect that the media has been claiming shot up the Capital Gazette because of right-wing rhetoric. Turns out Jarrod Ramos sued the Capital Gazette for defamation in 2012, only to have a judge toss the lawsuit out. Today was his revenge and there dies the progressive fascist talking points about this guy being enraged at the media because of Trump.

The above post will be the once and only time the murderous turd's name will be posted here.

A few years ago a similarly deranged p.o.s. went to shoot up the Forsyth County (GA) courthouse because he was being charged for possessing pot. He drove an SUV up the step of the court house, hurled homemade smoke bombs at the building and wildly shooting up the exterior trying to get inside. Luckily a bunch of sheriff deputies were around to return fire and finally filled him with lead before he was able to get in.

Its amazing that this guy had a serious beef with the paper for over 6 years and if the google is showing his real twatter feed, the guy was off his rocker. I guess since he used his real name in making the twatter threats it was difficult to do something. Although in all fairness, with the state of our mental health system (non existent for the most part thanks to better living through pharmaceuticals), not sure what could have been done to keep this seemingly nut job off the streets. Its a shame no a soul could actually defend themselves.

Responding to San Felice’s comment, Davis said, “I was praying when he started reloading that shotgun that there weren’t going to be more bodies. And you know what? If we’re at a position in our society where all we offer each other is prayers, then where are we? Where are we as a society where people die and that’s the end of that story.”

I know these people have been in a highly traumatic event, but what hell do you want from POTUS? Do you think you are going to get anything more from the left? The shooter isn’t an outright Trump supporter by apperance, the gun used wasn’t on the ‘bad list’, it happened in a state with bleeding edge gun laws- the left has nothing to work with here.

A crazy guy did something crazy. You live in about the ‘best’ state for gun ‘safety’- including making it hard for people to protect themselves with CCWs. The police responded about as fast as humanly possible- and acted bravely and directly. But Trump is the problem?

A week? This won’t make it to the weekend. Reference the Texas school shooting.

When even Media Hogg doesn’t make the front page on your shooting, it has less shelf life than a cut apple.

Doesn't matter he was caught red handed. Everyone involved, especially lawyers, have to work to death the "he's mentally ill" angle. It's required these days. What should at tops take a month will be dragged out for a couple years while super detailed due process is carried out, then he'll probably get life without parole.

UPDATE: Police Chief: I Won’t Say Name of Annapolis Shooter, He Doesn’t Deserve To Be Talked About

Altomare said, “I can confirm for you at this time that we identified the suspect, with help through other investigative techniques, by using facial recognition technology from the Maryland Image Repository System. … I will not say his name today. I refuse to do it. I wish you wouldn’t do it, but I know better. He doesn’t deserve us to talk about him one more second.”

The chief also gave a shout out to all the agencies responding, including NSA officers, didn't know they had jurisdiction off the campus.

The Media uses Identity Politics in order to incite more controversy. As others have said, this one doesn't fit the narrative, so it will pass relatively quickly with no Hogg speeches, and Bloomberg supported rallies. As Maryland is already a highly restrictive state for legally owned guns, and has all the measures the Left wants to introduce everywhere, that also makes it not sexy.

Interesting- Parkland also had lots of warnings and now this one had about 6 years of warnings?
I've heard of multiple reports of cops showing up when people post pics of Morel mushrooms on Social media.
Cops show up when folks complain about a "loud party" or "barking dog" at night

Maybe LE should change priorities to show up when someone says "...muh gonna be duh neks mahs chootah...."

Not sure on the extent of an NSA officer's jurisdiction, most states have 'called or summoned to assist' someplace in a law that should cover them.

Maryland’s code has a catch all under the Police section where outside agencies can exercise police authority “when an emergency exists”. They don’t define emergency so I’ve used it for a DUI before. David

I don't disagree to an extent, but the issue how do they go about doing this without violating someone's rights? This is a definite dark grey area bordering on Minority Report type stuff. At the point of "making threats" no crime has been committed. And if someone is picked up on charges of "making threats" we run the risk of pushing someone who would otherwise just be talking shit to actually doing after he is released.

The other issue is logistics, certain federal agencies and maybe a handful of your larger city departments have specific cyber crime groups (even in this case it is largely for child exploitation and intel gathering for terrorists), but how can we know when someone among our population is posting crazy talk on his social media? Contrary to tinfoil hat belief, everyone's social media isn't being monitored unless it is being done by their employer (say if you work for the federal government and are stupid enough to make these posts or view porn or whatever on your work computer).

I am in that field, but I don't know how we go about this.

https://nypost.com/2018/07/01/detective-didnt-believe-alleged-newsroom-shooter-was-a-threat-before-attack/
A Maryland detective determined that suspected Capital Gazette newsroom shooter ***** ***** wasn’t a threat, years before the alleged gunman opened fire on its staffers.

When the now-retired editor and publisher of the Annandale daily paper Thomas Marquadt called the cops on ***** ***** in 2013 – a detective investigated and said he didn’t believe the accused killer was dangerous, Anne Arundel County Police Chief Timothy Altomare said on Friday.

The detective, Michael Praley, said in a report at the time that he “did not believe Mr. ***** was a threat to employees” at the paper, noting that ****** hadn’t tried to get into the building and hadn’t sent “direct, threatening correspondence.”

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2018/06/29/lawyer-describes-dangerous-jarrod-ramos/747466002/

Brennan McCarthy spent years staring out the window, expecting one day to see ****** ******* coming for him.

In his 19 years of practicing law, McCarthy, an attorney in Annapolis, Maryland, said he never came across any person who frightened him as much as *****.

That same man is now charged with killing five people at the Capital Gazette newsroom in Annapolis on Thursday.

"Of the thousands of people I’ve dealt with in court, this guy stuck," McCarthy told USA TODAY. "I was extremely scared that he was going to do something to me and my family."

McCarthy says he became a target of *******' rage after representing a woman in 2011 who accused Ramos of stalking her and threatening her online.

The woman told McCarthy that *****, who had gone to the same high school as she did, had been harassing her online since 2009. McCarthy described it as the "worst case of harassment and stalking I have ever encountered in my career."

Well there are two wildly conflicting sides to this story.

He was Hispanic and not "white" or perhaps he was one of those "White Hispanics"?
So being that he wasn't going to fit any popular narrative, he became "Alt Right"?

Prior to the killings the POS mailed three letters.

Thomas Marquardt, the Capital’s former publisher, said the paper’s former attorney turned over to police mail received at his law office Monday — a document, signed in the suspect’s name, saying he was on his way to the newspaper “with the objective of killing every person present.”

The document is dated June 28, the day of the shootings, and signed *******. **** is charged with five counts of first-degree murder in Thursday’s mass shooting.
