Hope the link works, but this is an older (1991) training video on firing techniques for the Beretta M9. Are these methods still valid or have they since been superceded by newer techniques?:

There's a lot of stuff in that video that is just horribly wrong. Ready position with the finger on the trigger? In fact, their demo guy has his finger on the trigger the whole time. Crouch position? The grip they demo is messed up too.

Lots of that sort of stuff was known to be  even in 1991. Pistol training has never been something the military as an institution has taken too seriously.

Amen brother!

Over 25 years of service I am just now getting the proper instruction for pistols. The only reason I am getting that training is because I decided to go bug the ODA guys on my FOB to give me some instruction. The U.S. Army has FAILED it's troops in this regard.

The Navy has a more updated Computer Based Training (CBT) on both the M9 and M11. They are a little better, but still very basic. I've learned far more from informal shooting with HSLD's and civilian courses than I ever have from the CBT's and the qual course of fire.
