Anyone have this happen to them? I fired 2 or 3 rounds, then got FTE's every round after that I figured it must be under gassed, so I just set it to the side & tested some other builds. Finally got around to looking at a few days ago. I peered through the hand rails at the gas block when I noticed something didn't look right. I took off the hand guard & that's when I saw the gas tube was sticking out past the end of the gas block about 3/4". Only thing I can think is the gas tube roll pin got a bit too compromised when putting it in, or the roll pin had a flaw in it, maybe a bit of both? I see no damage to the inside of the gas block or the end of the gas tube that's protruding. The tube is too tight for me to take off by hand, I'll see if I can gently persuade it out later. I'm sure I should be able to use the gas block again, unless I notice damage inside after I get the tube out. IDK if the tube will be reusable again, especially if I end up having to gorilla mode to get it out. I also noticed the gas tube didn't seem as flared out where it meets the gas key as I usually see. So has anyone seen or dealt with this before & what did you determine to be the cause?

Sounds like you may have had a slight misalignment issue with the gas tube and key. The repetitive force of the bolt going forward probably eventually sheared the pin and pushed the tube forward.

Your gas block is defective. The gas tube hole should NOT go all the way through.

Uh...you do know lots of gas blocks are made that way, right?

Many reasons why this could have happened. You may have re-used the roll pin and it came loose. Or it's possible it was undersized and came loose. Or maybe the you missed the actual gas tube roll pin hole when you installed it.

In any case all you need to do is tap it back with a punch and remove it. Get a new roll pin and reinstall it.

I've seen this happen when an undersized or used roll pin was used during assembly.

Roll pins securing the gas tube are single use. They go in the trash when removed.

I did not. I've never seen one before.

Thank you for the correction.
