I just got a P&S ras and was trying to install it in my rifle. For the life of me I cannot the rail under the delta ring. And there are gouged in the rail where the barrel nut appears to be preventing the rail from seating. Any ideas?533365333753338

I've already insured the screw is removed and the gas tube rails sit on either side if the gas tube. And it applies to the bottom half of the rail as well as the top.

I have seen this happen with barrel nuts that weren't timed properly. What upper are you putting this on?

A BCM. I figured it would be good to go.

Nope, have you seen these:

Do you have a hand guard removal tool: https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/rifle-tools/handguard-tools/ar-15-m16-308-ar-handguard-removal-tool-prod24202.aspx

I'm simply asking if you are sure you are getting the Delta Ring as far back as it needs to be.

Good luck.

Autistic screeching ensues.

It couldn't be the rail.

"Anything made by made is subject to failure". Wilius Gunnus Smithus 59 A.D. Not saying that it is the upper/barrel nut. But, I have seen some instances of it happening.

Have you considered having someone else look at it to rule out operator headspace?
