Just had to have a 10mm and which better to get than a DW Silverback. Love this gun and when CZ says its fitted and finished to the same standards as the Valor, they mean just that. Their trigger fitting and tuning is just amazing. I dont know if DW is making their own triggers as they do pretty much every other part but man, it's a nice, SHORT trigger pull that just breaks like the proverbial glass rod and resets with almost no movement, its very quick, just like my Valor. In fact, even after almost 2k rounds through the Valor, I may like the SB trigger just a bit better. I will admit to not liking the aesthetic of the trigger and planning on replacing it almost right away, but, it feels really nice, maybe a little too nice to F with.
I like the two tone and all the little "custom" touches like the ball end mill cuts to the slide, recessed slide stop lever, frontstrap checkering and especially the serrated rib on top of the slide, sweet.
I can't wait to set off some power in this thing. I hope it shoots like my Valors too. If it does I will be a happy man.

Very nice. I’ve been wanting a Specialist for a while but it’s taken a back seat to some other projects.

Nice gun, I recently starting admiring the Valor in my LGS, I have no plans to buy it, but its Fit and finish are legit. They have it priced for $1,600 ish but whatever. Nice gun, its in 45 though.

Both of my Valors are .45 so I went with something different this time. The Valor is a very nice pistol.

Is the slide stainless or hard chrome? Looks good! I especially like the ball cuts.

The entire pistol is SS the frame has what DW calls their Duty Treat finish. I do believe its melonite. Its actually a PITA where care is concerned. They spec FP-10 (?) as the only oil to be used??? No gun scrubber or harsh chemo. Weird since melonite, I thought, was really tough and could stand up to about anything.
So yeah, slide is SS as well as the frame. It was a limited run and the only two-tone in their line up.

I really liked my Dan Wesson and wish that I still had it. Enjoy your new pistol!

DWs are nice guns for their modest cost.
I recently picked up both a 5” and Commander in their Vigil line, their entry level guns.
These are alloy frame guns and are 8/10 oz lighter than their steel frame counterparts.
They have been used as carry guns.
I was pleasantly surprised by the total lack of MIM in the guns.
FC parts are forged steel as are SS and other bits.
I can identify a lot of parts being EGW, which is a good thing.
Both guns shoot to the (Tritium) Front Sights and are easily 1.5” at 25 yd guns with carry ammo.

Looks like a very nice gun. Price seems to be in the same ballpark with my Springfield Operator 10mm.

If you've never shot a 10 before, take it out with one of your 1911s in .45. Shoot a box of the 10mm first, then switch to the .45. You'll think you're shooting marshmallows.

The only factory ammo I've used is Sig 180 grain FMJ, which claims 1250 fps. I believe it; this stuff is definitely not FBI-lite loads.

I'm presently loading 13.5 grains AA9 under a Hornady 180 grain FMJ. I haven't chronoed yet but it seems to be about the same as the Sig load. I'll be trying out 180 grain hardcast pretty soon.

If you intend to use these full power 10mm loads, I recommend checking to see if the chamber is fully supported. I can't tell from the Dan Wesson website.

Send me your brass!

I just bought a box of that very ammo and I am going to do just what you said to do, only I'm gonna a load a few mags of each, the 10 and 45 and go back to back with them. Should be fun.
