I've always had a hard time finding things that fit. The latest thing that I've found doesn't fit is the grip. It feels like I'm holding a candy bar in my hand. Other than using a sleeve (http://www.getgrip.com/main/overview/handall.html), or the Magpul MIAD (http://www.magpul.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=78_103), are there any other options? I don't have a good feeling about all the pieces that make up the MIAD, and would prefer a one-piece device...

Take a look at the top 4 pistol grips. They appear to be larger than the others listed.

Felt the same way... Trust me. It's not an issue. Solid as stone.

Order from www.magpul.com if you decide to try the MIAD. Even used, we'll give you a refund if you don't like the grip. No questions asked.

I have large hands and long fingers. I use a MIAD with the A1/B3 inserts.

I, too, had wondered about parts count and long term durability. No issues have materialized and the configuration about is now on all my regular carbines. I still prefer as few parts in a widget as possible, but the MIAD has been GTG.

An A1/B3 MOE would be optimal for me.

It's not a "general purpose" grip but the Sierra Precision is huge. :)

I've got the Magpul MIAD. Trust me when I tell you that once assembled, it is ROCK SOLID. You cannot tell it is not one piece. If you want a large grip, get the MIAD and use the largest back strap and you will be very happy. I like them so much I have them on all my AR's.

I was skeptical of the MIAD, but have since converted. The Hogue (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=645828) might be something to check out as well.

As a big handed guy, my 2nd favorite grip to the MIAD is the Ergo grips, with preference to the soft rubber version.

The MIAD's are awesome. I have a full FDE kit on my carbine, and just got a
basic black kit with 2 extra cores for my 20" A4.
Best feeling grip out there.
Fear not the sliding parts on the MIAD!!!

Many companies make grips for the longer fingered crowd, ergo grip, Mag Pul, are two very reputable ones. Go on brownells they carry many different brands including the two I mentioned.

No problems with the sliding parts on my 3 MIADs. I don't have really large hands but I typically use the largest backstrap because it forces better trigger finger placement for me. Once the backstrap is locked in place and then pinned, it isn't going anywhere.

I'm a big guy, 6'4" 240lbs. I have several ERGO's sitting here, and while they are very nice, they are not near as hand filling as the MIAD's I run on my rifles. If you are looking for something single piece and less $$$ then the MIAD, check out the Magpul MOE line.

Like I said in my humble opinion the ERGO is very comfortable, and nice, but not as thich and hand filling as the MIAD.

MIAD is good. I also use the A1/B3 combination and love how it fills my hand.

It's rock solid.

what are the differences between the basic MIAD and the other one on the site.

Another MIAD skeptic turned convert here. I do not like two parts where one will do, but I haven't heard of any problems with MIADs coming apart on people either. Once you get one, you'll see that at least one part can only come off if the grip is removed.

If it concerns you, go with the MOE, which is just as good, only one piece, and uses the most common insert sizes from the MIAD. I use the largest backstrap on the MIAD and the MOE approximates the one that's just a little smaller. Note where the backstrap ends in the two pics below, and the relative swell at the rear.
