I hope she is moving to another position, but what?

Odd timing. Maybe it is personal, as in really personal since it isn't mentioned. Normal would be to wait less than an month till after the election.

She was a great ambassador. I think it's a personal decision. Looks like she and DJT got along fine for the most part and there was no animosity or uneasy body language between them at this announcement. Trump said that if she wants to come back she can pick her position.

I bet she'll end up at Fox for awhile.

She said she's not running in 2020 and she will be campaigning for Trump.

Who is Trump going to fire after the election whose job she would be good for? Maybe VP if Pence wants to move on?

It was the Drapes reporting that finally got her.... ;)

Let’s see. GOP experts red wave, enough to piss on any DNC impeachment poop. Fire sessions, Rosenstein and add Haley as head o DOJ. Hmmmmmmm. Maybe special prosecutor for DNC crimes.

Stinks cause I liked her no BS attitude.

I like her too, but after her run as Governor and now as Ambassador She's racked up a decade or more of service and has two kids at home.
Good on Her, serving your Country was never meant to be a life long occupation. I think She's more than served her share of honorable and patriotic service.
I would like to know who She would choose to take the job.

My brother thinks that Haley is the Op-Ed writer. I really don't think so.

While Nikki Haley had been a good governor and a great ambassador, but her formal education is in accounting. She is not a lawyer and would likely be in over her head in the DOJ.

Or maybe she just wanted to move on for the sake of moving in.

Doesn’t always need to be a there there. If nothing else it’s something else for the mob to jabber about instead of Kavanaugh.

Or maybe she realized that Donald Trump will be going MAGA on the U.N. after they snickered at him during his last speech? Trump has no love for that Star Wars "Cantina Band" collection of 3rd World despots and tyrants who infest the place:

She will be missed.

Hard shoes to fill. Mr. President I would accept the post if offered. I know I really could piss off the UN, Arabs and all 3rd world dictators.

I tend to agree, just moving on. I would imagine the job was just as stressful as being Governor was and she made the decision she had done enough, probably 'for the time being.'

Look up her policy disagreement with Trump, then look up when Bolton became NSA. Then do the math.

She is a VERY dangerous person, believe me the Trump advisers are shiting their pants.

Has any other presidency experienced this much high level turnover this quickly?

Sounds like she's just going to chill out with her family until the 2020 campaign and then support Trump.

I have to say, she pissed me off ... and Lindsey Graham too, during the primaries. She seemed to draw the line and not move it in her job though.

It seems like a well timed move. What a glowing exit interview. That's worth some more Trump support across the board and we are under 30 days now.

Not sure who will replace her but she has set the bar for sure.

How about this possible option? She takes Pence's place as Trumps running mate for Vice President in 2020.

No way.... Pence is a sure thing, known commodity, support the mission type guy. He is the rock that everyone would look to and say 'at least he's not crazy and we know what he will do'

Now Haley may be planning for 2024 but not Trump's sidekick in 2020. Why would Pence want to leave or would Trump want him gone? He's a reliable asset.

He's reliable, sure, but he brings nothing to the table as far as getting votes that Trump doesn't already have without him. Also, how much stronger would she be in 2024 after being VP in the previous term?

I'm sure he is favored by the Evangelicals.

She will have 6 years to plan her attack, build the team and stockpile money.

You don't think Haley would bring a lot more votes than Pence would?

If you look it like that I would say.... I honestly don't know. Maybe, maybe not.

But Haley 2024 get's us Trump/Pence + Haley in 2020. and... Haley/? or ?/Haley + Trump and Pence in 2024

So there is no need to play this pair or that pair. It's a buy two, get one free situation.

She has already said, she's going campaign for Trump in 2020 and will not be running. She didn't say running for what but pretty sure she meant running for anything.

She can do a lot of speaking and probably write a book between now and 2024. Besides that Pence has a the ability to deflect media attacks on basically -anything- that comes out of Trumps mouth and sound reasonable about it to the point they just drop it. That's a rather rare and valuable asset. Pence is the sleeper. Possibly the most brilliant pick. How his kids came up with that who knows. Remember when Trump didn't like him, didn't know him. It was like ok, I just I'll run with this guy. Unless something is going on behind the scenes, the guy is basically faultless and uncompromising in loyalty.

Not that Haley is flawed somehow but she doesn't have any sort of free pass from the opposition. They will gladly attack her. Not so much for Pence.

That's just how I see it. We can have all three and according to her we will have all three. I don't think we will lose votes due to Pence. He's not a negative to voters.
