Bridge of Spies is a Cold War era thriller with Tom Hanks, and directed by Steven Spielberg, which is always a winning combo. It's the story of attorney James Donovan and his determination to protect the Const under any circumstances, and the bravery he demonstrated to negotiate a captured US spy plane pilot for a Soviet spy. I generally dislike most "based on a true" story movies as they tend to have very little that's true, or historically accurate. Not so with Bridge Of Spies, and other than some minor artistic license taken by Spielberg, and condensing the time frames to give the movie some pace, it's dead on historically speaking where it counts. While it's not an action packed movie by any means, it's well paced and deep in good characters and worth a watch for sure, especially for history buffs. B+/A-

I just really appreciate that Spielberg didn't add a bunch of historically inaccurate nonsense to please brain dead modern viewers who can't sit still long enough to enjoy good movie making like that. He took enough of an artistic license to make it fast paced and or intriguing, but didn't mess it up with BS that would ruin the movie as others have done with "based on a true" story movies.

I saw it with the wife when it was in theaters. Great movie, we both really enjoyed it.

Agreed. One of the better movies I’ve seen in awhile.

Didn't this come out like 3 years ago?

One of my coworkers is friends with Francis Gary Powers' son, he went with him to see it at the premiere. I've read the book and saw the movie, really enjoyed them both.

Yes. Not all my reviews are of recent movies per se, but most are. Some just slip threw the cracks and I get around to watching them, or may have been recommend recently, etc. If you didn't see it, it's new to you!

Ok gotcha. I was hoping they weren't making movies this similar with the same actors a few years apart.
