Recently the price of HK's P30 has dropped from $1000-ish to around $580 or so (depending on where you buy), and I'm seeing new CZ P-09's for $379 shipped. Supply and demand (or maybe oversupply and not enough demand) or just the trend toward compact/subcompact handguns?

IIRC part of the reason for the HK price drop had to do with them setting up a US manufacturing facility.

The market is saturated. Companies built capacity anticipating a rush before a ban, and with relative freedom under Trump the sales are flat.

People who read m4c are a tiny part of the market. Much of the market are not-really-shooters who will go out and buy when a ban is threatened, but probably don't buy, or shoot, in times when there is no imminent ban.

Definitely over saturation. I bought a new LCP for $170. Partly because Ruger introduced the LCPII, but these were $300+ not all that long ago.

I haven’t noticed prices coming down that much on compact and subcompact stuff. I don’t think full-size stuff sells like it used to. People would buy those for home defense or just to have around and it would be their one handgun, but that was before CCW was so widespread. Now the average buyer wants something they can carry - whether they actually do carry is a different story, but they like the idea of having something they can more easily.

I hope 1911 prices start going down - I see LITTLE movement with them. :(

Glocks are still overpriced, which is why I am still hanging on to my Gen3s.

How so? They've made significant improvements with the Gen 5 and they've cost the same since I started buying them 20 years ago.

What is funny is watching all those retards trying to sale off something they bought during a panic at stupid prices and wondering why their shit is not moving.

How about mag prices? Anyone see ridiculous low priced OEM Glock mags anywhere?

I haven't been to a gun show in years but last time I made one I recall a mouth breather walking around with a Bushmaster slung on his back that had been dragged through the Cheaper Than Dirt catalog. The idiot had a sign on it asking $2K for his used tactard Bushmaster that I'm sure he bought after Sandy Hook for $2K-$3K.

Looks like they can take a $350 Turkish import and make it "Elite":

That sure looks an awfully a lot like an FN 509.

Mostly, 9 Gen 2 the rest were Gen 3, a mix of window/non-window, blank and sand. It was at a LGS that was clearing out stock. I bought every one he had and sold the gen 2's to a buddy that wanted them.

Picked up a ten pack of Gen 2 non window PMags NIW for $7.98 shipped a week or so ago during PSA's Columbus Day Sale. Just couldn't pass up adding a few more to the stash. :D

Locally our new Rural King store is smashing the competition with pricing. Even the gun show guys are crying about Rural King's low pricing especially on pistols.

Gottcha, well thanks for replying.

I scored OEM G17 and G19 mags for $15 a pop once at an LGS that was having a clearance. The salesman was a little shocked when he asked me how many I wanted and I told him at that price I want them all. I bought them out.

My Glock 19 gen 3's work fine. Trying to re-design the same thing and slap another brand name on it doesn't change anything. Glad I'm not a trend buyer.

My Gen 3's work so well still I haven't even picked up any Gen 4's much less 5's. I have to admit though, after playing with a G19X at a trade show I want one now.
