These two rifles were built to suit a couple of different purposes. Back when I was shooting Benchrest..the kids would constantly want to shoot my rifles when I went to practice. It was easier to build this little Marlin 15 YN to resemble a Bench gun than it was to constantly rearrange my equipment when they took a shot or two with my rifle. It has a Stainless Steel Pillar block, Bisonite Bedding, a homemade over travel stop, the trigger breaks at a crisp 2 lbs. The foreend was made from a piece of Maple Hardwood flooring shaped and Epoxied and dowel pinned into place. I used Bondo to contour the who thing before priming and Spraying 8-coats of Krylon Fire Engine Red and 2-coats of clear on it. I chose red since I have used this rifle many times while teaching kids how to shoot.
It has a real affinity for CCI CB-Longs and shoots Eley 10X into very small groups at 25-50 yards. And I have taken crows past 75 yards with it, squirrels and even one unlucky 'yote that came within 50 yards of Moms chicken coop one morning while I was visiting.

The 10/22 was built just for busting crows in semi-populated areas..so as not to disturb the neighbors with a shot from the .22-250 Ackley I used to hunt with. It likes Fiocchi V-320 (Discontinued of course) but has proven almost as accurate with even cheaper CCI-mini mags. I wont say what the longest distance shot was that I have used this rifle to kill crows with...as some might scoff at my word. But the group I have posted the pic of was shot at a measured 100 yds and while a personal best...is indicitive to this little rifles accuracy.http://http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll91/rat31465/1022group.jpghttp://http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll91/rat31465/1022rug.jpghttp://http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll91/rat31465/100_0782.jpghttp://http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll91/rat31465/100_0786.jpghttp://http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll91/rat31465/Marlin15YN.jpg

Yeah I have been a member of Rimfire Central for several years now...but to be honest I havent visited the sight for quite sometime now. One of interests use to be Rimfire Benchrest and I found lots of good info there for Rimfire shooters.
