I am in the market for a BUIS for a shorty rifle.
I am looking to spend as little as possible right now, and would like to make the purchase this week.
Any suggestions, and links?

Larue Fixed BUIS, $89. http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=29
ETA: My friend recently got a YHM rear flip-up sight, I had a chance to shoot it a couple weekend ago and it was servicable. I think it was in the $70-80 range? I don't have a link handy but there are lots of YHM dealers out there.
For fixed, LT. For flip up, ARMS #40/#40A2 ($90).

The finest fixed BUIS available, IMO.

I like the Arms mounts mentioned above, but still looking for inputs. Who has the lowest prices on these?
The LaRue, although it may be considered the best on the market, I should have mentioned I need it to be a flip sight. If I cannot find what I need, it is an option though.

I have the ARMS BUIS's in stock for $90.

Grant,
What are the differences in the two ARMS mounts you listed?
Another vote for the LaRue BUIS. Robust, built like a tank. I prefer the SPA (same plane aperature) for my application. Nothing to flip up or flip down. It is the tits!:D

Does the LaRue get in the way of using optics? I think it would be difficult to use a red dot if I had something always upright.

Grant,
I just noticed the ARMS 40A2 in the Bushmaster catalog. Seems they suggest a .040 taller front sight. Do you have those also? Or are they even necessary?

I mounted my EOTech on a LaRue EOTech mount that raises the optics .25". The BUIS sits in "offset co-witness" (lower 1/3 of the EOTech window). I prefer this because my FOV is bigger in comparison to a perfect co-witness where my red dot will sit in the upper 1/3 of the window.

Just noting the irony. Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.;)

While I'm happy with my Matech, I'd probably be just as satisfied with a Yanke Hill YHM-9680

or YHM-9680-A1
http://yankeehill.bizland.com/store/media/YHM-9680-A1.jpg
More info on each can be found about 2/3 of the way down at http://www.yhm.net/store/sights.html . Both list for $90 but I believe there are online retailers who sell them for less.
How about MI? I have no experience with them but it's under $100.
YHM Stand Alone BUIS, roughly $50.

The #40 has the 300m horizon line cut in it and the #40A2 uses the standard USGI irons.

Depends on if you are using a BM AR15.

I MUCH prefer the TROY BUIS over the ARMS and prefer the ARMS #40L-SP over the two ARMS BUIS's I mentioned. The poster wanted to stay around $90 so had to go with ARMS for flip up. ;)

The MI is very good as well and is about the same size as the ARMS #40A2.

I love my Back-from-Iraq used KAC300m. I paid $60 for it.

I know why you recommended it. I was just reflecting how I've seen you recommend ARMS more than I've seen you "bash" them. As if pointing out their capabilities and limitations is somehow "bashing."

As you know, I stock ARMS products and think they are pretty good. I have also used them for YEARS. The fact still remains that they sit 100% behind LT in quality and repeat zero capability.
Discussing a products limitations is classified as bashing on other forums.
