FYI...concerning the 6.8spc performance. Tagged a nice doe today at 70yds with a Noveske 10.5 and the new Silver State Armory 85 Barnes TSX. Thru and thru penetration breaking the opposite leg and evaporating the heart. Deer ran maybe 40yds and expired immediately. Blood trail was substantial. I've had excellent results with the 110 gr Pro Hunter soft point but wanted to try the new 3000fps 85gr screamer. It's great to have my favorite personal defense rifle and hunting rifle all in one. FYI, the 85gr is a little louder than 110gr load thru my AAC M4 suppressor.

That sounds like it will be perfect for antelope, as I had hoped it would be.

I am still on the fence over a 12.5" or a 16" barrel though. Whitetails can be had inside of 100yds from a stand, and antelope might be shot from 0-400yds...

Do you have a chrony you can verify velocity with the 10.5"?

No Chrony. I like you couldn't decide on barrel length. Therfore, I built a Colt/Noveske 10.5" and Colt/PRI 16" and share a suppressor between the two.
EoTech on the 10.5 and Nikon Monarch with BDC 5x20 on the 16" - it's GTG for long range

Great report. I'd always wondered about the lighter hunting bullets.

Were are the Pics? Let's see the carnage!

I built a 6.8 upper for deer hunting also...too bad I'm in Iraq and it's collecting dust.

Congrats on the kill.
