Do you also still have BUIS on the rifle or just using the laser as the backup sighting system?

Thanks Steve

I would run flip-up BUIS. I do not run a DBAL/optics though.

What optic? My laser experience is fairly limited because I don’t own one and I only use them at work every now and then, but that’s three sighting systems. If I know the optic is a good one, I’d probably not worry about BUIS. I’ve never had a significant failure of optics though, I’m sure a personal experience there would sway someone heavily.

ETA - I should probably also clarify that since I use an LPVO, it has an etched reticle and I’m ok with not having irons on it anyways. Plus it’s a Razor.

I run back ups with my dbal. RailScales leaf front sight attached to the dbal and a knights rear. I also use a 1.93 height mount to clear them all and have a clear sight picture though the optic. Prior to the leaf I still ran a front flip up.

Slow RX, I'd love to see a pic of your setup if you get a chance. Thanks!

Sweet SlowRx! Thanks for the pics. Where is your pressure switch mounted?

Lasers generally make poor aiming devices in daylight.
If the firearm's task is serious, I put physical back-up sights on.
Some standard, some offset, depending on the task that the gun oriented toward, and optic mount type.

I keep fixed back up irons on mine. The DBAL is only there for its IR capabilities.

My current setup has a fixed front sight base, and a Matech rear sight in addition to my Dbal and Acog.

BUIS seems to be the concensus! Thanks all!

I run magpul pros flipped up, in front of my dbal. I use the fire button for activation. Optic on the gun is an EXPS3.

Would one of these work for you in combination with a flip down rear sight?

The answer is yes, I run multiple sighting systems when using a DBAL.
