View Full Version : Glock-48?
I guess we will know by Jan-3-19. Shot show might be interesting at the Glock booth.

I prefer the single stacks for carry. Would like to see in all the calibers.

This may be close if the leaks/rumors are accurate.

Ive always had a fondness for single stack 9’s. Loved the 39 series from Smith & Wesson and the older Sig P225’s so this would be a must have for me
G43X aint the G48...
If either of them are even realz.
Glock should make a .50AE or 5.7mm pistol
They’d be about as useful as this G48 idea.
I've always thought that there would be a market for single stack 17, 21, 22 and their derivatives.
A lot of shooters would benefit from the smaller grip circumference.
I have big hands, but I'm with Mr.Greene, I flat loved the 639 and 3906 and one regret I have is not snagging and older 3913.
Some G48 info was leaked earlier today: https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/49472272_2405698202792243_2269773792257507328_o.jpg?_nc_cat=104&_nc_eui2=AeGgStSA_j4TsKSdEotWIJMvYWkT4Se3_LPDliMQ8wVRy4GIqLqzhyQDXH7qvZcWAys-r8-5fl9HYJo8LWM6AhZ3Sqv5hKZF30G-YubOEwY6uA&_nc_ht=scontent-sea1-1.xx&oh=623f9f0ecd2921755543fe68c4ed11e0&oe=5C9B0F74
Tentative release date is 1/3/2019.

Is it more concealable than a G19, yes. Is it $550 more concealed, no.
I would also like to see more single stacked variants. I would really love a single stacked 19 sized .45....just a bit bigger than the 36.

I agree. I feel like I get a better grip on the gen4 and 5 without any back strap than a gen3, and I have pretty large hands.
I also think a lot of people would be better off with one middle sized gun rather than a full size for the range and a sub compact for carry.

So Glock is re-inventing the long line of Kahr polymer pistols ?
It's literally 2mm shorter and 4mm thinner with 5 less rounds vs. G19.
What in the actual...

The difference in how my wife can control a Gen5 vs a Gen3 with small hands is significant. I look forward to buying her one of the single stack Glock's in the next year, I think it will fit her hands very well.
I think it's quite possibly going to replace my Shield, and if they are smart enough to make + 4-5 round mags it could end up on nightstand duty.
Maybe Glock is forward thinking to the 10rd states requirements?
Sure, you can stuff a 10rd mag in a G19/17, but those mags have always been a bit temperamental and you are carrying size / weight around that you don’t need to.

Another plus I think Glock will see from this gun is how it is received in restricted mag states like NJ, CA, NY, etc. if your limited to 10 rounds, why not a gun designed for it.
I think it’s a winner for the company, even if it’s not something I’d prefer.

I also understand it will be legal in Canada.
Oh $hit, so Glock might actually have looked at a business plan for this, instead of bowing to the all knowing interwebz and making a long slide G26?!?!?!?!??!
Who Woulda Thunk it?

 You never know...they did take way too long to come out with the G43, although it has certainly been a popular product. But I'm carrying ext mag Shields when I'm looking for a single stack.
I get the whole "short grip" concept, but when I see how many companies make mag extensions, I seriously wonder how popular the G19/26 grip, G17/34 slide would be...
A single stack, 10 round 9MM with a grip between a G26 and G19 would probably be a winner for me.
Looks like Recoil updated there page on the Glock-48-43.

I'm in for a 43X. Not sure about the 48, as I love my 19X. The 48 slide on a 45 (model) frame would be a thing of beauty.
Okay here is the email part today from Glock. Jan-21-19 is the date for release.

It was made FOR Canada.
The 106mm barrel lenght and 10 round capacity are Canadian specific requirements for the handgun to be buyable for us Canadians (all our handgun mags are blocked to 10) straight from the factory without having to buy a longer barrel and neuter the mags.

This is my understanding as well. Either way; solid pistol :moil:
