Mattis got pulled over for speeding one evening after he left the Pentagon. He let the state trooper off with a warning.

I heard Death had a near Gen. Mattis experience.

I got dinged up really bad in a climbing accident about 25 years ago. The orthopedic surgeon was staring at my x-rays very intently. Then he looks over at me and asks "Army or Marine Infantry?"
He'd been an Army combat medic in Vietnam, then gone to med school.
He shook his head and said "That f**king ALICE pack has crippled more young adults than MS."

How many different ways does this loser scream Stolen Valor?
Just on insignia:
>Stripes not properly attached
>Officer-only Command Pilot wings
>Army Infantry-only Combat Infantry Badge
>IIRC the bottom-right (Schmuck's left) wings are Air Cav or Air Assault
>More salad-bar than a vegetarian convention and doesn't even look old enough to shave
Not even getting into gig-line, how he carries himself, or other issues... and I'm not particularly any great shakes on ID'ing ribbons/badges/etc., I'll bet any of you who've earned a Salad Bar of your own would probably have me scrambling for books to ID anything higher than the NDSM but lower than the MOH if you posted it.

The most noticeable of all ribbons: The Army Service Ribbon, aka the "gay pride ribbon."

Master Sgt soup sandwich was a Airman 1st class, (load master) and a druggie. He killed himself a couple years back. (shocker right?)
I'm sure his mama sad, probably not many others... They were talking about stolen valor on the book of faces, and someone found his social media accounts, and a write up on him. There were other photos as well. He had on bloused jump boots, and a tan beret. He showed up to some base for his step dad's graduation to some course like that, and the MPs escorted him off base.
I did up that meme... so he would be remembered...
I worked, sweat, and bled 28 years for my 6 rows, Pumpkin Patch, CAB, and CIB. He didn't earn all that fruit salad, but he earned the scorn of his brother, and sister veterans he embarrassed by being a stolen valor druggie.

LOL, no lie. About three months after my EAS, I got an invite to join a group of guys hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, non-stop for seven months.
(For our viewers at home, you start from the California/Mexico border, and walk north until you get to the Washington/Canada border. That's 2,653 miles.)
I actually thought about it, and then told them "Shit, that sounds like going back to work. No thanks."
