I watch Hulu as opposed to netflix. I was thumbing through and saw this. Its a Lifetime film. I thought it was going to be some man-hating film.

Nope. It was pretty imteresting and based on a real life case. There is our heroine, a young blossoming teenage girl starting to experiment with boys and weed. Nothing too much or too far....but flirting with it. Just trying to come into her own.

She is out hiding her new boyfriends weed while her dad is hunting, her baby brother is playing vidya, and her mom is at work.

She then gets accosted by this dude in mall ninja tactical gear. He identifies himself as a cop, puts her in cuffs, takes her away then plants an alleged bomb necklace on her and takes her to a bunker he'd been hiding in for a year to evade warrants.

And yet....especially because it is based on a true story...the girl is very resourceful.

She is raped(although nothing explicit is shown) and is used solely for sex. She is 14.
But....twist...

She keeps her wits. She makes the guy trust her by makimg him think she is falling in love with him. This gets her out of bondage. His pig accomplice leaves him food in a dead drop. Eventually she is escorted minus restraints but she loves her shoe behind hoping a dog gets her scent. She manipulates this backwards pedo like a pro. They go after kids for the disparity of power. She talks to him as if they are in a real relationship. It seems like he has a plan but doesn't. Not really.

She tells him she loves him like they are a relatable couple. "I understand you" "I care about you" "When you go off, I worry the cops might catch you" She humanizes herself beyond a sexual release.

I won't spoil it, but it pays off in the end despite the obvious toll it has taken on her.

Like, if you have daughters you should be teaching them orienteering, fieldcraft, basic SERE, and bargaining.

CRP. Connect. Respect. Protect.

This is the only Lifetime movie that kept me enthralled and yet is based on a true story.

The only other one is where Joey Lauren Adams is a detective hunting down a woman dying of cancer who has been murking sex offenders with a Barrett light 50(yes you read right).
