Does anyone still have Pmags 30 rounders in stock?

Otis
11-05-08, 20:54
On Monday I ordered 10 from www.mygotogear.com. They do not have them in stock, but they are back ordering. If you can wait, they are saying 2-3 weeks.

If you order by midnight tonight, you can get 15% off using code PE15 which I think makes it a pretty good deal - I'm getting 10 for $129.70 shipped.

Good luck,
Otis

I figure by the end of the week most of the bigger guys will be backordered.... You can still find some on the smaller mom and pop sites, but they are normally about 30 to 50 cents higher (big Deal).

I probably don't. I mean I have a bunch here but I have taken 10x more orders for them in the last 3 days than the last 3 months. I may have a few FG not yet spoken for. (I do have a good supply of Lancer L5 mags)

However, Magpul is pumping them out and shipping them out as fast as possible. (I have spoken with them a few times in the last couple weeks including this morning, 11/5) So, your favorite dealer will be getting more over the next few weeks. Get on their BO list with a firm order, if they will take it, so that you get the ones that come in and are not left standing out in the cold while those who placed BO and are first in line get them when they come in. I don't know about other dealers but I (and my webstore) don't charge your card until the stuff is ready to ship (except for special orders as agreed). So you can order and get into the BO queue now and not get charged until more mags are available.

I know I have several orders with Magpul for more mags and will be placing one new order a week to keep the pipeline filled.

So, get in the BO queue at your favorite dealer now so that when he gets more mags in the next 1-5 weeks you will be getting some and not having to wait even longer while those who did get in the BO queue get the new ones.

Remember, BO is not even President yet, not until January, and I personally feel he won't move on guns until he gets the economy under control and saves the world. Ie, until he gets his big ticket promises / agenda pushed through. I think this as he will not need the distractions and waste of political capital that gun issues would bring when trying to raise taxes, take over healthcare, run away from Iraq, invade Pakistan, etc.

I also think he may not try anything on guns until after the 2010 election to avoid that as an issue that could cost him support in Congress and get his opponents riled up and united. He may also wait until he can get more people on SCOTUS.

You have time. (I doubt Magpul will raise the price on PMAGs and I certainly will only raise prices if my costs go up)

Brownells showed the black windowed ones in stock. Ordered three there just to get an email saying they are back ordered. They did tell me they are getting them in every other day and I should get them in rougly 2 weeks.

I also ordered two from G&R in foliage... they were the only ones they had in stock.

I'm sure they're out there and folks snapping them up is just a knee jerk reaction.

I really dont think the election is what caused the P-Mag shortage... I think they took off better than anyone expected from the start. I for one sold every USGI mag I had and replaced with all P-Mags. Im sure there are many more who did the same. The election certainly did not help the matter either, as people are going ape shit buying them by the case :D:D

Actually it is. I had no trouble calling Magpul 3 weeks ago and ordering 250 varied including 150 black and having them show up 2-3 days later (as a dealer). Now the wait is much longer.

I had plenty of mags on hand until about Monday. Since then I have probably taken 60-80 new orders for PMAGs. About 5-10x what I would do in a month.

20R PMAG supply is a different story and is technical in nature (and I only have the RD version)

It's a knee jerk reaction that I have even fallen for. Obama is going to be a busy man come January. I'd believe it will be unlikely that we will see an major anti gun bills passed anywhere in the near future. We need to be careful the magazine gun buying craze does not end up with price gouging on the retailers end. That said I've got black pmags on back order and am picking up another lower next week.:D

This guy will be the most anti-gun President ever, and with his other cronies, Pelosi , Reed and Co. things are going to go from bad to worst. Do not forget that this guy is an extreme liberal,( to call it that, and not a socialist) and he has in numerous occasions expressed his extreme views about guns ... Make no mistake , things are going to be tough for us specially, and all of this is besides the Dow in Wall Street going to Hell , Corporations selling and moving out of the country , inflation starting to go up , unemployment kicking in , etc etc etc. There are many , many people really afraid of this guy`s views and plans . The fact is that he is really an extreme leftist liberal... He later said differently to win the election , and lied and promised everything to everybody... but the real fact is that he is an extremist , with extremist plans !!! Just take a good look at the crowd that he surrounded himself with all these years !!! There is a very old saying that describes this guy very well : " Tell me who you hang out with , and I will know who you are " !!! The future of this country is in very bad hands and we will be feeling it very soon ...!!! The election of Barack Obama as President is , in my humble opinion, the gravest mistake that this Nation has made since the Civil War ...!!!

I think anybody who actually believed McCain was going to win is naive at best. For some reason, Obama supporters view Obama as their savior. At least it seems that way. On the other hand, McCain was supported by people who viewed him as the lesser of two evils. Sure, he was a great man who served his country, but "conservative" is not a title I would give him. Sorry, this post is really off topic.

I never had an issue with standard GI mags until I got my hands on a Pmag. For starters they just feel more robust, and then when you actually use them you realized they are worth almost twice a standard mag.

Yeah, the Quantico at Riley always had them in stock. I bet they don't now. Today I stopped in at the Quantico at Ft. Hood and asked if they had P-mags and the guy laughed at me. I drove all over Killeen today looking for some, then I found three black P-mags. I think they were the last ones for sale in town.

If you think FG PMAGs almost look black I would bet they are not FG but OD. FG definitely does not look black at all, even in bad light while OD does

As an aside: I got 110 OD PMAG no window in today from Magpul. They are already spoken for so don't call trying to get any but I mention it as an indication that Magpul is shipping them out the door as fast as possible.

Why? There are plenty of small time dealers who have them. Everybody rushes to the big boys to buy the mags. Think small, spend small :).

Charles Daly
11-11-08, 09:35
CD Defense has 20 round black (no window) and 30 round Flat Dark Earth (no window) at $14.95 + $5.00 S&H. The $5 shipping is handling is only applied once to the first magazine.

So if you buy more than one mag, actual freight will be charged if it is above $5 to your location. For example, we shipped 10 PMAGs to someone in Texas and the actual freight was only $14.

Sorry, but we do not have any 30 round black at this time. We have them on order with Magpul and hopefully they will arrive soon.

We only have 40 left of the 20 round black and approx. 100 left of the 30 round FDE.

To order, call (toll free) to 866-DalyGun (325-9486). If you order today, ask for Lindsey. If tomorrow through next Tuesday, ask for Brad. (Lindsey is going away for a week during this incredibly busy time. I could hang her....)

Are we gouging at $14.95?

Absolutely not...given the demand you could charge ten bucks more more than that and I wouldn't consider it "gouging." I'd like to say that Charles Daly has proven itself to be a class act. I'm really happy with my shotgun from you all and hope(there's that word again) to be able to purchase one of your ARs within the next 8 months, hopefully the freakout buyers will be done by then.

I have an order from Del-ton on mags. My guess is that they are now stating 4 to 8 week for any shipment. They figure by the time your number comes up they'll have mags to send you. Not a scam...but kind of scammy. :)

Del-ton has never been fast on getting orders out. I'll probably get my mags in March.

So, will I eventually get my mags from Del-ton? I placed an order, saw the order on my pending transactions and now it is gone. No charge to my account and I can't get them to answer the phone or return emails. Do I need to look elsewhere or will I get my mags?

Thanks.

We have a small quantity of 30 round PMAGs, black, without window. And we still have just over 40 of the 30 round Flat Dark Earth.

The price is 14.95 each + $5.00 S&H. On multiple mag orders we will only charge the actual freight cost if it is over $5.00.

Call (toll free) 866-DalyGun (325-9486) or 866-DalySvc.

Got a silly question. Since PMAG's are vaporware, why aren't people buying Lancer mags?

I am a PMAG fan, but I also use the Lancer and have run them through several training classes without a single issue. I also know that Vickers and Hackathorn has some and have zero issues.

A quality mag is a quality mag and people should be buying whatever they can find at this point.

Well, I honestly don't know how robust the Lancer mags are.

With mucho respect to Vickers and Hackathorn, I want to know how they hold up to extended daily use and abuse before I consider them. My mag requirements may be a bit more extreme do to my work location, but I swear by Pmags.

I can't recall much of an online buzz about Lancer, like what the Pmags got. Maybe that is because Pmags were the first ones to get it right.

They are good to go with no reported issued by long time users (like me).

The PMAG's were the first of their kind and the Lancer did not receive the same fan fair, but are still a good magazine and have some nice features.

I suspect that these are a polycarbonate polymer. But I have no knowledge of this. But they are lighter weight.

They are more money than the PMAG which might bear this theory out.

You can look at youtube and see various test videos etc they did with them.

That’s what I did.
I was going to order some pmags before the election but decided to wait until I had a chance to talk to a friend and see if he would go in on a order. By the time I saw him and went to make the order it was to late. Everyone was out of stock. So I decided to try some Lancer L5 mags. UPS dropped them off yesterday. I’m surprised some places still have them in stock. My first impression of them was they felt cheep. Like the old Ramline ones. However they inserted and dropped free and can be loaded with 30 rounds and still seat. The clear smoke is neat. If you compare them with the windowed pmags then the price difference is not that much. It will probably be next month until I have a chance to try them out at the range.

Looks like someone was committing an obvious felony because you cannot legally sell large capacity magazines in California except to military and law enforcement and I believe that it has to be on letterhead. I know because I grew up there and just escaped from Cali for good a few months ago. California still has a large capacity and assault weapons ban, even the previous Federal Ban expired.

With limited exceptions, California law prohibits any person from manufacturing, importing into the state, keeping for sale, offering or exposing for sale, giving, or lending any large capacity magazine. Cal. Penal Code § 12020(a)(2), (b). A "large capacity magazine" is defined as any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than ten rounds, but does not include any .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device, any feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than ten rounds, or any tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm. Section 12020(c)(25). California does not ban the possession of large capacity magazines.

Upon a showing of good cause, the California Department of Justice may issue permits for the possession, transportation, or sale of large capacity ammunition magazines between a licensed California firearms dealer and an out-of-state customer. Section 12079(a). This requirement applies for only the out-of-state importation and exportation of large capacity ammunition magazines, including the transportation of such magazines as necessary to complete a transfer to or from an out-of-state source. See Cal. Code Regs. tit. 11, § 5480.

Large capacity magazines may be manufactured for any federal, state, or local government or law enforcement agency, or for use by agency employees in the discharge of their official duties, whether on or off duty. Penal Code § 12020(b)(30). Large capacity magazines may also be purchased or loaned for the sole use as a motion picture, television or video prop. Section 12020(b)(31), (b)(32)(A). Such magazines may also be resold to law enforcement agencies, government agencies, or the military, pursuant to applicable federal regulations. Section 12020(b)(32)(C).

For additional large capacity ammunition magazine regulations, see Cal. Code Regs. tit. 11, §§ 5480 – 5484.

Now I would not mind having 10-20 Orange PMAGs to use at training courses.

J&T Distributing, out of Winchester, VA. Selling PMags at the gun show at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA.

http://www.dullesexpo.com/guestinfo/events/index11_08.htm

http://jtdistributing.net/index.html

Windowless black and FDE going for $16ea. I think they were selling the windowed ones for $22, but my eyes sort of glazed over as I bought my 20 black solids, so I can't really recall.

The had CRATES of the things! I'll be going back tomorrow to hook up with some war buddies and look for some odds & ends, and will be getting more pending some number crunching tonight (I'm trying to buy a house soon) and presuming there are any freakin' left when the thing opens up tomorrow.

Be forewarned: that place was an absolute madhouse. Also, there were at least 2 other vendors selling PMags, but none for less than $20 for windowless. Don't know how they were stocked.

Oh, and I had a guy standing behind a table, purporting to be a gunsmith, that swore a blue streak that the military went to 1-in-9 twist barrels years, like, decades ago, dude; and that staking a gas key was simply a ploy to force an owner to get a new BCG when a key goes, and not a method of ensuring that the key is less likely to give out in the first place. I sorta stood there with my jaw dropped, long enough for my tongue to dry out.

Hitting a gun show is worthwhile, if for no other reason than to idiot-watch.

That price is for the Black or FDE MagLevel version so I don't think it is that much above MSRP. They are charging a $2 premium for Black (and FDE for the MagLevel only) which I found odd, but I guess that is just supply and demand. I have no problem paying a SMALL premium for something that is currently hard to find to get it quickly. Here is what Brownells is currently charging.

For the 30 round mags...
Non-Black, Non-Window is $14.95
Black, Non-Window is $16.45
Non-Black or FDE Window is $17.95
Black or FDE Window is $19.99

The only PMags at $19.99 at Brownells are 30rd maglevels in black and FDE. Prices haven't changed, nor has the gov/industry price.

There's no reason to pay more than that. Put your backorders in and wait in line, it's a line that moves pretty rapidly. The panic buying is getting ridiculous.

My mags arrived today from Charles Daly. I ordered them on 10-13-08 after reading about the shipment they received. To say that I jumped to the phone to place an order was an understatement. Apparently I called 40 minutes after CDI got their mags.

I ordered 10 mags, and they came wrapped in two bubble wrap envelopes with 5 mags in each envelope. The envelopes were shipped in a cardboard box. I know PMAGS are tough, but it was nice to see CDI take the time to package the products properly. Shipping was just over 8 bucks to Oregon. Total cost per mag was $15.75 I believe.

I've never ordered from CDI before and don't own any of their firearms, but I'm impressed with their service. My buddy and I each bought a 6920 and couldn't find a single PMAG anywhere. This thread saved the day (week, or even month depending on how you look at it).

I ordered on a Thursday, and my card got billed the next day on Friday. Assuming they shipped the day they billed, it took 1 week for them to arrive in OR from PA with UPS ground. I didn't inspect the shipping label though.

That's pretty much par for the course in terms of UPS ground in my experience.

Uhn, well I'm glad you had a good experience. I on the other hand am still waiting for my refund after a 3 week ordeal that involved me doing most of the work. It's also odd that shipping for my 3 mags (3 incorrect USGI mags) was $10 to MN, but who knows.

Sorry to hear that. I was a little nervous placing the order since it seemed like it was hectic there. Plus I usually don't like to call an order in because its too easy to mix things up (i.e. order, address, cc#, etc). Hope they make the situation right for you.

The first time around I specified 20 round PMAGS (black), three times. THREE TIMES. I was surprised they had them in, and the guy insured me that's exactly what they were. The worst part is they didn't ship for a solid week (took nearly 2 weeks to get here), so by the time I realized they were the wrong mags it was too late. :(

That and as an online seller I can't believe how much shipping material they waste. I'm all for having safely protected products, but using a bubble wrap envelope for each magazine and a whole ton of bubble wrap is absurd. They sent the return shipping label in a nice cardboard box packaged in a bubble wrap envelope to boot. CDD could throw that $3 to their bottom line and still have more than adequate packaging.

I called Brownell's Monday and asked what the individual officer price was for PMAG's w/o window. The person on the phone told me, and stated they were out of stock, but I could place a back order and it would be filled as the mags come in.

I placed the order, back ordering 12 black PMAG's w/o window. The y showed up yesterday! (Manufacture date on the mags was 11/08.)

I know this doesn't do much good to the one order that we screwed up, but guys, we got hammered last week. We burned through 500 mags in 48 hours. And we don't normally sell at retail.

25.95 is better than the idiots that paid 50.00 a piece or having none at all if you are a piss poor planner.

... $25 is way out of line.

I agree... but, sadly, that's at the low end of the FUBAR pricing nowadays.

This is really pissing me off. Not that there is a shortage, because I can wait. But the continued panic buying that's driving these prices up to unrealistic costs. Unless I missed the memo, Magpul hasn't increased their dealer costs... so this all falls on the fault of the buyers and dealers marking their products up.

It's stupid. No other way to sugar coat it.

Sure, I agree there's probably a ban looming in the future... but it's not going to pop out of nowhere, come January. People need to calm the hell down and stop fueling the fire. This is no better than the gas crisis a few weeks/months ago when "omg! there's never going to be anymore gas! Buy all you can! NOW!".

I know I shouldn't... but I keep finding myself shocked at how stupid people are. And until the market gets re-saturated with product, this crap is only going to get worse.

Probably because they're relatively "new" and don't (correct me if I'm wrong) have the anti-tilt follower yet. Think I remember that aspect still being in the works? If incorrect, please state otherwise... don't want to spread false info... just going on what I recall reading in the past.

But they do seem like a good product... especially when compared to the inflated prices of everything else. lol Been meaning to pick some up for test and evaluation. This may drive me to do so.

I ordered 4 mags (all I can afford) on Thursday afternoon along with the MIAD basic grip kit (also at Dealer's price @ $24.99) and the package shipped on Friday and the ETA is Tuesday if not earlier.

As I typed up this thread it's still listed as available.

You gotta be in the right place at the right time. On computer, with $, and ready to jump. And a listed price isn't the same as an auction. In my book. Auction is capitalism at it's best. Like it, the price is right, buy it. Don't like price, don't buy. Simple. Nobody fooled anybody. Some ppl have way more money than brains.

Ask for Lindsey and have your full name, address, telephone number, credit card information (name on card, number, expiry, security code) quantity requested, up to a max of 50 pieces (no exceptions). Price remains at $14.95 each. Orders for one piece will be charged $5.00 S&H while orders for more than one will be charged actual freight cost via UPS Ground. Sigfest, not everyone is buying 50 at a time. In fact, most orders are in the 5 to 15 piece range with the occassional 50 piece order. We are getting deliveries from Magpul every week, anywhere from 500 to 1,000 pieces. So if you miss us this week I am sure we can handle you in the next week.

If we are sold out when someone calls, we will be happy to take a back-order. Then when the next shipment arrives in our warehouse we can process and ship without further delays. If anyone is uncomfortable giving us their credit card details, rest assured that we never charge a card until we ship.

If someone wants 50 pieces and we have 500 in stock, then I think we should take the order. I mentioned 200 pieces in an earlier post but that was in reference to what was remaining from a shipment of 600 that we received earlier in the week. We are holding prices at MSRP when just about every other advertisement we see is higher than us by 25% or more. We won't gouge, but at the same time, we want to sell what we've bought. I don't know a better way to do this. If you have any suggestions I'm always willing to listen.

We are closed Friday but will re-open Monday with more PMAGs for sale. We didn't get cleaned out but we did sell a lot of them.

I suggest calling first thing Monday morning. We are open 8:00AM to 4:30PM, M-F, eastern time. Toll free: 866-DalyGun (325-9486). Ask for Lindsey.

Have a great Thanksgiving holiday weekend!

I ordered my 20.

Thanks Michael

Called into Daly just moments ago and ordered in a handful.

Now if I could just get through to Del-Ton and cancel that order...

Just placed an order with Brownells earlier for 23 black non-window PMAGS (12 for me, 5 for my brother, and 3 each for two others). Backordered of course but from what I've seen they should ship soon. I'll let you guys know. With LEO pricing it was only $12.95 ea.
