Does anyone know if a Gen 5 frame will handle 357Sig pressures?

Thinking about a Gen 4 slide and 357 Sig barrel on the Gen 5 frame.

Thoughts?

Thinking about a G45 bottom and a G32 Gen 4 slide.

Not an official answer but there's a crap ton of Glocks running 9mm 127+p+ without issue. I even run it in the 43, answer I got when inquiring was "just hang onto it!" Not sure why the .357Sig wouldn't be ok in the 5's when they were beforehand in the other models.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but The gen 4 slide will not fit on the gen 5 frame.

Oh yes it will. Must replace the back plate with a Gen. You don't even have to worry about the Ambi Slide lock/release

Check Commbloc74 on InstaGram. He is running a Gen 4 G19c slide on his Glock 45 frame. It shoots very well.

Man this is just all kinds of interesting! I could totally see a 31 or maybe even a 32 upper on a 17.5 frame.

Edit: 17.5 frame because that mag cutout in the 19.5 front drives me nuts! It's not so much an issue in the others.

While I do prefer the trigger and no finger grooves of the gen 5, why not just use a frame with the double pins? I am not an expert, but from what I understand the 2 pins are needed to maintain durability in higher calibers. You also won't have to deal with the stupid cutout on the frame.

All I have is Gen 5 Glocks.

I'm thinking a G32 Gen 4 slide in 357 Sig on a G45 frame.

This was my thought as well. And since Glock does not seem to be real interested in a Gen5 in other calibers than 9mm, it might explain the move back to a single pin.

Gotta admit though, a 19x/g45 in .357 would be interesting.

Yes it would..

I can pick up a Glock 23 complete Gen 4 slide for $150.00. New back plate, a 357 Sig barrel and a couple of mags, It could happen.

I could use Blue Label privileges and buy a 32/31 but not sure I want to use it.

Find me a VG-Ex G22/23 Gen 4 and then a 357 Sig barrel.

Curious as to why anyone would want to even chance the integrity of their g5 frame by shooting other calibers with it? They’re more expensive, offer no more effect on target, aren’t more accurate, etc. vs. 9mm.

I carried a 357 Sig P226 DAK for the last 6 years of LEO Duty. I like the round and it does offer something more than 9mm. Not wanting a 10mm or 40S&W.
357 Sig harkens back to my early LEO years carrying a S&W Mod 27 4" in 357 Mag. It would be my walk in the woods gun where a feral hog may be lounging.
Won't be an EDC or regular on range sessions. I have 9mm's for that, from Shield to 1911's
