I have reloaded pistol ammo for years but am now going into .223. Having developed pet loads for my pistol cartridge long since, I have not needed to buy newer manuals. What do you guys think that I should consider for powder in a .223 load?

TAC, H335, AA2230, especially if loading progressively.

I also have been searching for the "One Powder" that stands out above all the rest, but what I've found is an excellent variety of powders to choose from.
The popular VARGET, A2230, H335, W748, and TAC powders are so highly tooted by reloaders that I'll have to give each a fair trial and make my own assessment. Wish there was an easier way.... Sorta..:D:D

Buy the cheapest; stack it deepest.

For my 69gr. SMK loads, I like Varget. It meters just fine. My SD's on a XL650 press are less than 7. .25 MOA out of my 18" AR

For my 55gr. FMJ-BT plinker loads, I like H335 or W748. Both meter ridiculously well. Set the powder measure and forget it. .50 MOA out of the same.
