Up for sale to a good home, is an STI 1911 that I picked up from an STI employee who built it as a personal carry gun (FYI, it has a ramped barrel).
I took it to local (to me) Gunsmith John Indell (who has a shop with Gene Schuey and also works for Terry Tussey). John is a great guy and a great 1911 smith.
John did the following to it:
Trigger guard cut for high grip
Front grip strap was hand checkered (30LPI -I believe)
Carry bevel treatment
John’s special 45* treatment (edges of slide cut to 45*)
Blended MARS ILAP magazine well (w/ lanyard)
Reliability package
DLC coating
I intended on having the previous owner’s logos (roll marks) removed from the slide, but John did not feel comfortable removing them. I have put maybe 100rds through it since John worked on it and it’s still pretty tight. It’ll need some more rounds through it to fully break in. This thing is a tack driver and a beautiful gun. I carry Glocks for work now, so she’s been a safe queen.
