Promising hardware or too gimmicky?

"T-Worx Holdings, LLC, a Virginia-based technology innovation company, announced today that its Intelligent Rail power and data rail product has successfully completed U.S. Army testing and that T-Worx received a memorandum of approval."

Kind of makes sense as there are more and more attachments that need power. Seems like organizing cabling to a common power source would be better and be a lighter weight.

If there’s a possibility for them to use their powered rail like a battery backup so that if your regular battery powered devices run out of juice instead of having to remove old batteries and put in new ones the powered rail could take over or vice versa.

Which would give you some peace of mind if the powered rail technology fails then you can still use your devices as normal.
