Just signed by Gov. Stitt and effective Nov. 1st. When asked questions by the media he reiterated the best answer to a “bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun”. Elated to have a Governor we can be proud of once again.

Sweet. Article reads "Permits Oklahomans age 21 and older to carry a firearm without a permit." does that mean the law applies to residents only?

We may be the armpit of america in oklahoma, but we have full auto/OTF knives and now permit less carry.

Don’t take it as gospel but I recall reading language at OKShooters that reciprocity would be extended to residents of other states who have also passed Constitutional Carry statutes.

If I can find the statute as passed I’ll post it up.

ETA: don’t see the statute yet but this is a PDF of the Bill.

Nah...the armpit is just over your border called Wichita Falls. Congrats on CC.

To be fair, I'd say it stretches from Wichita Falls, through Altus, to Lawton.

It's taken way too long for this to happen, especially in such a red state as Oklahoma. I'm glad it's finally here though. I do wish it expanded to college campuses, but something is better than nothing.

Not really, but you are close to some bigger cities. I live in N west OK. It's 100 times worse up here. But where I have you all beat is shooting. 2 sections of land with 100 pieces of AR500 up to shoot long range. The local range even goes out to 500 yards. The gun culture rocks up here, just not much else.

Oklahoma currently (and has for years) recognizes non resident permitless carry of other states, so if you are a non resident and 18+ and your state allows open carry or concealed carry without a permit you may carry either way provided you have valid ID proving your a resident of that state.

ETA: It is the only state I'm aware of that allows it.

Lemme look further but I’d never heard that or seen it within our training materials, it was always taught as reciprocity for CCL from out of state.

That would be seriously screwed up if non-residents can carry without permit but residents cannot.
