1) Does Anyone know of or attended a non-LEO only Armorers course in New England? I tried the search but most information was dated.

2) With all of the interest in the AR platform, why are there not more offered to non-LEO?

3) any opinion of courses worth traveling for?

Thanks for any input

I believe IG does them. That would likely be my first choice.

Edit- I believe its the sempar Paratus courses. Not sure how far east he goes.

Just a thought, you may want to search Brownell's or Midway for an amorer's manual that fills your needs.

Hit up Will Larson at Semper Paratus Arms.
I cannot suggest that class highly enough.

Every SOLGW employee must take that class before starting their OJT.

Get about 8 ppl together and he'll do the class wherever you are. I'm sure he'll be somewhere in your area this year.

Another recommendation for Semper Paratus. I have taken his armorer classes twice, it's a ton of very useful info and techniques.

I am not only a Colt Certified Armorer, but on my own money went to Semper Paratus. I learned more from Will than I did at Colt.
I work on guns literally all week. I could have done everything I do with just the Semper class.

We have done several Armorer Courses on the East Coast in states like Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York. Our schedule keeps us swamped coast to coast. If you are willing travel, we annually have a few Open Enrollment courses in Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri, and Iowa are a few that come to mind.

Let me jump on here and tell you that I've had nearly 30 years of attending just about one armorer or armorer recert course a year. I'm here to tell you that Sully's courses are fun as well as top notch.

I've been through both Sully's basic and advanced courses and also have attended the Colt course, so I can say with confidence that you will be getting a superior armorer course with SLR15/Sully.

I've also read the course reviews for the courses which Sully conducted at our facility up through 2015, when I retired. The Kansas officers who have attended his courses at our facility gave him the same high marks.

I bookmarked this thread a long time ago. Some great references to armorer tools.

Not sure where in new england you are. But windham weaponry has a few classes for ar15’s. Not sure if that is what you are looking for.
