I built this rifle for the 2018 Sniper Team Challenge @ University Rifle Club (took 4th) and planned on shooting local DMR matches with it. Unfortunately work has gotten the better of me and I rarely shoot it.
I went with the Aero Precision M5 because of their hand guard attachment method which lends itself to accuracy (hand guard mounts to upper, not barrel nut and barrel). Some changes were made right out of the box and the result is a sub-moa shooter that not only has functioned flawlessly, but is VERY soft shooting. Took the optic off but will include some Magpul MBUS pro sights so you can shoot it as is. Specs are as follows:
Aero Precison M5 .308 w/ Aero nickel boron BCG
Aero Raptor charging handle
16" Rainier Arms Ultra-match barrel 1/10 twist, rifle length gas (cerakoted black)
SLR adj. gas block
AAC 51T muzzle brake
Geissele SSA-E trigger
KAK heavy buffer/spring (same weight and function of rifle length buffer/spring but carbine length)
