Nassau County Long Island gun restrictions ?

Already own 2 rifles (Ruger M77 in 22-250, and a Remington .22) but am interested in getting an AR, only thing is I'm unsure of what I am legally allowed to own. Haven't had a chance yet to go by the local shop to find out.

Right now you can own a pre 1994 ban with things like collapsable stock, bayonet lug, flash supressor, or a post ban AR with none of those. You cannot get a gun that was made after the 1994 ban with any of the evil features.

You might have some trouble with the first one if it has a flash supressor. I can't tell from the picture.

If possible, I would go the distance and buy a pre-1994 one with the collapsible stock and all. But that's just me.

Mags over 10 rounds have to be 1994 or before. If you look on the TOS equipment exchange, you will find people selling those mags.

Do a search on gunbroker with the term preban ar-15 and I think you will find a few.

Mags are tricky. Most post ban AR-15 magazines are stamped with the date of manufacture. Other mags like PMAGS, are clearly made after the ban. There are certain mags made by adventureline, sanchez, and OKay industries to name some, were made before the NYS ban. You should be able to find them listed as such. I PM'ed you some info.

Was there today, don't know his name but was a younger guy. They had a few ARs left. Suggested a BM they had for around 1300. Going to check out a few other places tomorrow.

Ended up getting a S&W M&P15 ORC with flip up sights from Classic which is local to me and were asking regular prices.
