I'm sure many of you have caught this, but for those that haven't here ya go. This kid is a rocket...I was a sprinter back in my day & as a white boy was always tickled when I snuck into the high 10's. Never would have guessed sub 10 times would happen at the HS level. Read something about it not being 'official' due to a 4mph tailwind?? I'm guessing state is this weekend or next??

Sure because his compatriots didn’t also benefit from said tail wind?

Kids fast. Good stuff.

I would need many, many, many tailwinds.

Amazing! I can't even put on my running shoes that fast.

That's bad ass.

I can't imagine being able to put down a sub 10 second 100m. Getting out of blocks wasn't exactly my strong suit though.

I had a friend in high school who was running insane 400m times. His freshman year he wound up putting down a very low 46 and nearly broke into the 45's. I myself ran really low 50's. Running the open 400m with him was always depressing. At around the 150m mark he'd just pull away like you were standing still. It was always fun hearing the staff call out times to build the heats and he was always the last person still seated.

Damn. My PR back in the day was 10.8 and the fastest I ever saw was in the low 10s. Sub 10 is insanity for high school.

Kid will get to represent his country in Tokyo if he keeps at it. If he keeps shedding time he might bring home some hardware. IIRC the qualifying times are in the low 10s.

In my day, late 50's we ran 100 yards vs 100 meters. Dang, that boy is flat ass flying!

This Boling guy's weakness IS getting out of the blocks. He beats them once he gets going but he needs a quicker start. Fortunately, this can be trained.

Let’s be real, it’s controversial because he’s a white boy
