I've been looking for a backup sight for my m4 for a while and I stumbled upon one made by brownells seen here.

The one I was looking at was the standard rear because the flip up portion on thesight is small and the whole sight is compact(two things I need for my setup). I was curious if anyone here has seen or used one. Also what do you guys think of the aperture size of .108''? Would that work ok in low light if needed?

I saw a bunch of them EODT was using them in Iraq they will break and/or will get knocked down when you need it. Save your money get a Troy.

I've used the HK flip up version, and its solid. No experience with the other one at all. Below is a link to a review, along with pictures.

The Troy buis is my default choice if I can't find anything that will work for me for less(when will I learn). The brownells choice interested me since it was small and set the sight back pretty far back(being able to set real far back is a requirement since I'm using a aimpoint 9000sc) and it's fairly affordable. But, if it isn't durable then it isn't worth getting I guess. The Troy would be the best choice with cost being the only issue, but like I said I will go that route if it turns out(and it looks like it is) that there isn't a more afforadble option.

Sorry to bring this back, but I saw the brownells at a gunshow and now I'm interested in them again. The sight didn't look too bad. The detent seemed strong enough to keep it up. I guess I'm not to worried about the sight getting knocked down since It will be sitting right behind the aimpoint, so it is somewhat shielded. I would think that they should be about as tough as a matech, which seem to get used quite a bit. I was just curious if anyone had heard anymore about them.
