View Full Version : YHM rail height with Daniel Defense 1 o'clock mount

Since my YHM handguard is customizable, I can mount my Aimpoint T-1 on a 3" side rail (using the Daniel Defense 1 o'clock vertical mount), either close to the forearm, in the middle or towards the muzzle end. Other than those three positions, I can also use the standard 1/4" height rail or the extended rails (adding another 3/8" or so).

Question: Should I use the standard rail for a closer cheek weld or go with the extended height? Or should I take another direction and just top mount a YHM 45 degree mount on my extended top rail and mount the T-1 there? I do have a compact 24mm NSX tube on an extended G.G. & G riser, so there is enough clearance where the scope ends and the top handguard begins.
