I’ve been on a roller lock kick the last year since I received my form 1 for my MP5 clone.
I am now wanting a 7.62x39 roller lock and PTR offers the 32p with 8.5” barrel and the 32k with 11” barrel. I want to get the form 1 paperwork going but have a few questions.

I would prefer the shorter barrel but it looks like the stock options are limited. I only see one stock that might work with that setup. I’ve read the buffer springs are different between the two guns but still don’t understand what stocks will fit which gun.

What options do I have with each firearm?
Will any G3 stock fit the 32k?
Is this the only option for the 32p? (Will it even fit?)

I just don’t want to buy the firearm, take the time to mail in the form 1, then wait 10 months to get the paperwork back to then discover nothing will fit on the ptr 32p.

I have a PTR 32 with 8.5 " barrel, it is fitted with the G3 collapsible stock.

If you take a HKG3 down to HK51 lengths, you need to change things on the recoil spring assembly or you will get function problems. HK G3k lengths "most of the time" run fine with a standard stock setup.

Expect the same issues to apply with 7.62x39. You have a lower powered cartridge so you may or may not get cycling issues. I'd recommend contacting Ralph at RDTS or Curtiss at S&H Arms to find out.

That said, if a standard stock collar is being used on the PTR guns, then the recoil spring assembly should be correct and you might be able to simply add the A2 stock once the SBR is approved. The collapsible "meat tenderizer" stocks add a lot of weight, have a terrible cheek weld and are pretty uncomfortable to shoot.

Per PRT today, any G3 fixed stock will work with either gun. I thought this was more complicated.

In 7.62x39 I didn't find it to be terrible. In 7.62 NATO it causes real pain. But the wire stock on a micro Uzi gives me pain.

Interesting. If true I might have to grab one of these.

On a SBR 7.62x39? I once had one on a 51 and it was brutal. Can't say I'm a fan of them on G3s or G3ks either except for looks.

Yes it is on my PTR 7.62x39 with a 8.5" barrel.
