Well boys, it looks like they’ve stopped importing MEN M193 ammo, and the residual supply has dried up...

Can you order it from overseas without getting wrecked on shipping or customs?

Is there a comparable substitute in quality and accuracy that’s readily available? CBC owns MEN, so maybe the CBC gold box and/or Magtech green box branded stuff is just as good? Is there even any difference between the CBC and Magtech branded M193?

Sad days...the Federal M193 I bought never looked as nice and shiny as what MEN puts out.

In the past, it comes and goes in availability. Though I've never seen BOTH 5.56 and 9mm tapped out.

I’ve inquired with several retailers of MEN 5.56 and they all said its importation has been discontinued indefinitely.

I still have a little over 1000 rounds, guess I’ll just keep it in ammo cans. It could be because all the ammo is being used by the Bundeswehr.

The .308 is still imported?

What benefit does it provide in ammo cans?

Nope it’s collectable now lol.

What benefit does it provide in ammo cans?

Long term storage to prevent moisture as long as the seals are in good shape.

1000rds wouldn't be around long enough to gather dust, much less need protected storage. Especially MEN.

LOL, WTF are they using it for, ballast?

Best regards from Germany...

At 1:30 he mentions we are at the mercy of the Bundeswehr with the availability of the ammo because they use it...

Yeah, I just meant the Bundeswehr is pretty pathetic...

Oh, I didn’t pick up on that. Yeah hopefully things change for the better for the Bundeswehr.

Not likely. There was a lot of hand-wringing here after Russia invaded Ukraine several years ago about increasing the German defense budget, but that's all come to nought.

Unfortunately, Trump demanding that Germany spend more on defense seems to have made the Germans even less inclined to do so.

So, I can't fathom how the under-manned and under-equipped Bundeswehr is going through a lot of ammo...

Yeah unless Germany and the rest of Europe for that matter actually face rising security threats I don’t see them not piggybacking off the US any time soon.

As for why MEN ammo is no longer imported I have no idea then, it’s a shame because their 9mm NATO and 5.56 ammo was really good quality like most things German.
