Headspacing?

Hey Everybody, I've been hanging around this forum for awhile now (NOOB). My question is, Do ar-15 barrel's have to be headspaced?

It is probably obvious that if you are assembling an upper with parts from different manufacturers or even the same manufacturer, that headspacing needs to be verified.

But, if for example, you have a complete upper from LMT (BCG, etc.) and you disassemble to install a rail forend. After reassembling, do you still have to verify headspacing?

I think if you are working with a barrel that already has the barrel extension installed you're good... assuming a reputable builder did the work.

I only buy assembled uppers. So headspacing isn't an issue for me.
