According to the above document, the USMC owns the TDP for the MEUSOC 1911. Since the parts listed are (as far as I'm aware) available commercially, what specifically does the TDP cover? I would think that the 1911 has been around long enough that there's not a whole lot that isn't known about it.

(the above document was part of a solicitation: https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=b24e3d3b462410ef5d3640bf49ae165b&tab=core&_cview=1&cck=1&au=&ck= )

The Technical Data Package (TDP) in addtion to the specificity of parts & components etc. it mandates has the Specific TOLERANCES that it mandates etc.

These tolerances are what has been determined to yield the BEST accuracy, reliability, durability etc...

Yes, Dave Berryhill is the man to go to for information on these pistols. I know he used to make very good clones at a very good price.

He's a member here but I haven't seen him in a very long time. Then again, I haven't posted much in the last 6-7 months.

He also makes and carries some very nice parts for the 1911.

Unfortunately Berryhill is no longer(currently) making parts for the 1911.Brownell's is out of his parts.

Dave Sams (http://www.samscustomgunworksusa.com/) will build you a spec pistol that follows the TDP. He's a good guy to deal with and does great (http://www.louderthanwords.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6577) work.

The man you want to read concerning MEU(SOC) & DET-1 pistols is Patrick A. Rogers.

I believe that I have the TM for the MEU SOC which details exactly what parts and stuff are used in the gun as well as the source of supply. I'll check my files later and se whatI come up with.
