View Full Version : Removing carbon..
When I clean the bolt tail, I use a brass scraper (the one supplied by Otis). Although I'm aware that carbon on the bolt tail does not affect function of the weapon, I'd like to clean it "properly". How do you guys clean the bolt tail?
Kroil and a SOS pad works like a champ

I usually don't bother cleaning it off. But if you must Slip2000 Carbon Cutter (comes in a jar) is good at softening the carbon. Leave the entire carrier soaking in the jar bolt side down for about 3hrs and it'll wipe off with a cotton rag.
A Marine, Gubmint issued bore cleaner, his GP brush and lots of time....:p
One of those green scrub pads works well.

Too funny...
I have tried the kroil Oil and the Green Scoth Brite scrub pads. Works very nice.
