I just scored my latest Benchmade, a 520 Presidio with the plain edge. IMO, it's my favorite so far. Much beefier than my 710 or my old Tanto used to be. It cuts though, which is more than can be said for lots of other knives with similarly stout blades. The lock and handle are totally bombproof, and it's Smoooooooth...

So lets hear it... Favorite current, and past production BM knives.

Before I even read the post (just the title) I thought, "of course it's my 520 plain edge". Deja vu. Yes, it's the 520 Presidio in Plain Edge. It's a work horse. The scales are robust -- something I look for in tools I intend to use. The steel (154 CM) sharpens very easily and holds a scary sharp edge that stays sharp after much use.

Where is the best place to buy one of these 520 Presidio's . I lost my Emerson and need another good knife to carry but I can't justify $200+ for another Emerson :(

AFCK (Advanced Folding Combat Knife) with the 50/50 blade and Telfon coating.
Don't recall the model number, though.

An auto that I can not break...

...but from the collection of broken ones I have, they must have never made such a thing

IMO, the axis lock is the best you can get.

The Benchmade Apparition is my new favorite BM knife. The assisted opening is VIOLENT more so then even their auto's IMHO.

I am an authorized BM dealer and offer M4C member discounts on their knives. Let me know if I can help.

Yes, what a nice model. The torsion bar is sweet. IMO, the best assisted opening knife I've seen in a long time.

That is nice of you to offer a discount to M4C members on B.M.. Do you offer discounts on any other items for M4C members?

thanks for your support.

Interesting. I'd like to see the same thing with an Axis lock though.

My current favorite working BM that I own is my McHenry Williams. I'm not sure of the model number, but I think it's a 710 for some reason.

I gotta say though, that BM balisongs are my favorites overall. If I was a collector type I'd be buying up every one I could find.

I wound up acruing several BMs when I worked in a shop that sold them. The store owners were always giving them to us as incentives and gifts and such. I'd actually like to sell the balisong on top but I keep forgetting to list it. People tell me it's worth $200+, but what the hell do I know.

I have a #688 of 1000 first production run Elishewitz (154cm) that I seem to like. Its nothing special but it holds a fair edge and has always done what I needed (which is doing pretty much anything but what you should do with one).

My favorite Benchmade and EDC knives are a pair of AFCK 800S folders. I have carried at least one of them on me for the last 8 years. I had to send back the older of the two after aprox. 4 years of carry and a couple more sitting in a drawer. The screws holding on the G-10 grips/scales threaded into the G-10 on the other side(instead of metal)and eventualy stripped out. Benchmade upgraded my orignal grips/scales(they are a almost smooth texture) to new attachment method, replaced the broken pocket clip and resharpned it for $5 return shipping. Turn around was less than a month:) .

I have been carrying a 720 that I got from one of Grant's "Silent Auctions" a few years ago. It is all beat to hell now but the blade is still sharp and it works like a champ. I'm not a huge blade guy but it has done everything I've ever asked of it.
