Don't underestimate the little BB-blasters just 'cuz many of their most visible users are Timmies or other forms of Internet Douche--I always found them useful as "basic instruction" tools for an intermediate step between dummies and Live Iron. :)

Of course they have their limits and those need to be acknowledged, but as long as they're kept within their lane they have their uses.

It’s usually viewed as childish in this realm, but I actually like airsoft. If you have the right group, and a good location it can be a lot of fun. Finding the right group could definitely be a challenge though. I went with a buddy a few months ago just to try out, and almost everyone there was about 12 years old or in their 40s but kind of acted like kids. But there are definitely things that carry over, as long as you realize that not everything does. Airsoft could definitely get you killed in da streetz.

Yes, I agree! I watched the vid last night and the darn Kid did pretty good,, kinda fun to watch! Lucas sure got a kick out of it and especially busting his buddies balls about how this kid was already better than most of them. Anyways entertaining to say the least. I think I'm gonna go look up a Airsoft CZ 07 ! ;)

If I can find suitable replicas of WWII iron and finance it, one of my lesson plans once I have tenure is an all-day Airsoft battle with half the class stepping into each side's roles with tools and tactics between US GI's and German Wehrmacht, then after lunch change gear and teams with the homework assignment being "write a compare-and-contrast essay based on your experience using both sets of squad gear and tactics."

Airsoft may not be a great force on force trainer, but good luck getting a safe Simunitions setup with a Garand or a Kar 98k.

I watched a formerly untrained shooter get a few lessons from his brother and to from unclassed to A in a year in his 40s.

In a year he did 14 matches, ten 200 round days at the range,
With 30 min a day of dry fire/air soft with a co2 powered recoil / slide action mimicking version of his pistol

I once read about a high-level IDPA or IPSC shooter from Japan--the only times in a year he touched live iron were at matches over here, everything back home was all airsoft all the time.
