Is the the lubrication on a new rifle meant specifically for shipping, or can it be shot fresh out of the box? Also, being my first AR, how do I go about replacing the standard buffer with an H buffer? LMT is the make of the AR in question but I'm sure that doesn't make much difference.

Most people will tell you to take it home, break it down, and inspect and clean your new rifle. That being said, I'm guilty of heading straight to the range and putting a few bullets downrange. If you do that, I suggest taking some sort of lubricant with you.

I'd also suggest seeing how it shoots with the standard carbine buffer before you go replacing parts. I'm sure it will function just fine as is, so there is likely no need for a heavier buffer. Should you decide to replace it, go to any of the reputalbe dealers online, such as bravocompany, and order a new buffer. When it arrives, simply remove the one that's in it now, and replace it with the new one. I'm assuming you know how to remove the one that's in there now.

I'm sure I can figure out, but directions to a good guide on detailed break down instructions would be appreciated.
