I did not want to hi-jack this thread: https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=21754&page=2

Ok here goes. Everyone knows there is safety in numbers. 1 man against 10,20,30 armed (insert any abc agency/ theives/looters) knocking on the door to "steal" your firearms and/or trample your 1A and/or 2A rights is only going to result in your death or incarceration/kidknapping/robbery. It will have no affect on the issue and/or movement as a whole.

My question is How does someone go about finding like minded people and forming a "group" with the sole purpose of being peaceful, law abiding, non-radical, 100% defensive, Aswell as protecting yourself and others from any possible civil unrest, AND avoid being labeled as crazie's, but as our founding father's meaning and purpose of a "militia".

I have been approached by several members various local groups asking me to join them. I am located in the south and lets just say that these groups are the kind that give militia's a very bad name. I want NOTHING to do with these types!

As I see it, Being a " Lone Ranger " when it comes to the defense of my family IF civil unrest occurs (based on my physical abilities/disabilities) would be nearly useless.

Does anyone know where there is info on such "groups"? Does anyone have any plans related to this issue?

Mods: Feel free to do whatever you "need" to with this thread Im just looking for insight, education and idea's relating to Man-made/Natural disaster preparedness.

Honestly don't expect too many responses. Aside from training together and some informal BS sessions I think people are very cautious about organizing into a "militia" or whatever you want to call them. Though you and others may perceive it as non-hostile others who call the shots may not. Sorry that there isn't a better answer.

Remember, everything you type on the internet can be monitored and tracked back to you. By discussing things like this you make yourself a target. An easy target.

There may be many people of like mind with you, but they would never actively discuss this on the net.

You have been warned.

First off I see your warning loud and clear. I agree there are things that should be left "out of print". I'm just not sure that I see any threat in what I have posted. LEO, Building manager's, School auth, ect.ect. all have a plan written and rehearsed, for man made/natural disatsers. Why should the average U.S. citizen be scared to discuss the same very issues? I'm sure that just by being a gun owner and even have visited any pro 2A website has me already on more than a few lists. I have nothing to hide. Im not talking about a revolution. Im talking about liberties guaranteed by the U.S Constitution. A new AWB would suck for sure, but that is not good enough reason for a "revolution". A total gun ban would unleash civil chaos. Not by me, but I am possitive people far more insane than you or I would start something. I myself would be in a completly defensive mode. IF said chaos started the .gov would be the least threat as far as personal safety goes. There WILL be people far more dangerous to the common people than .gov. Looters, rioters, ect. I should have been clearer in my first post. Guns or no guns the .gov is not going to go door to door killing people without cause. But looters ect. (I suspect people without guns who will be looking for guns). A mob of people, in fear of their lives and without food, water, medications, and the protection of guns is my greatest concern.

I see where you are going and you are on the right track. I would just hate to be the guy that is ordered to come to your house because the men (and women) on the Hill fear you and your friends.

Jefferson, the founder of what would become the Democratic party, is just dead white politician whose image is on the $2 bill.

Here is the new reality:

There's the way the world is, and the way it should be. We live in the world the way it is.

IIRC, this is from from Saul Alinsky's introduction to Rules for Radicals. It was also the message of Michelle Obama's speech at the DNC convention.

I mean no disrespect, but think about what you're asking.

Smart conversations about matters like this happen privately and off the grid.

Any public discussion of this subject is perfectly within our rights under the First Amendment -- but personally, I wouldn't come within a hundred miles of anyone naive enough or arrogant enough (or both) to discuss, suggest or recruit via the wwweb. Ditto chest-pounding and grandstanding, even if they're motivated by defense of Constitutional rights we all hold sacred.

Naivete and ego are very different human frailties, but in this case both will get you killed. Do what you like, M1A2_Tanker, but I have no interest in volunteering to be a target.

YMMV.
