Hola,

I am still trying to build a .40 S&W upper. While I really do not care how long the barrel is I am hoping for 8" - 12" (for a pistol). What is the absolute cheapest way to build a complete upper half (minus the sights but everything else). I have a Glock lower now for 9mm and will change out the buffer/buffer spring as needed but the .40 upper is so expensive compared to 9mm. I am hoping to stay under $250. Is this even possible?

Gracias

If you build it you can get close.
My barrel was <$100
Upper with dust cover ~$50
BCG ~$80
Charging handle I had in stock
Hand guard on sale $50

That BCG also works for 10mm and .357 sig

Can you tell me where picked this up and which items you used?

Bear in mind I would catch sales on stripped uppers and buy several at a time, same with other components.

Barrels and BCG’s I bought at joeboboutfitters.com when I would see them on sale.

The only items in the list that were purposely purchased for a particular build were the barrels and BCG.

Other items were purchased from places such as primaryarms.com. With the holidays coming up you, should start to see sales to take advantage of. Many of the best sales besides Black Friday are the ones right after the first of the year.

I probably accumulated everything over about 9 months.
