The chipped beef version is really good, but will have to the Kent Rollins version now.

Lots of good recipes and other info on his channel.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191009/d8a6396fea59ebec31ae45a0399a8864.jpg

We ate a lot of that as kids.

Actually, it still sounds good.

Aw damn...I love me some SOS. Haven't had it in years, though.

Kent Rollins is legit. His version is almost certainly delicious. Imma have to try both, though.

This

Is very close to the recipe I posted, just needs more salt. Contrary to their cover photo, shingles are NOT included.

Last year I bought his book, "A Taste Of Cowboy". I've finally worked up the courage to admit to you all, "Hello, my name is 3 AE and I'm a Chicken Fried Steakaholic." I'm hooked on it BAD! The first time I followed his recipe along with "Sparkling Taters" and slathered all that fine country gravy on it, I knew I was going down that road from which there is no return. My wife and I will go out for dinner and I'll pass up a ribeye if there's CFS on the menu. I've had it for breakfast with hash browns, on a hogie roll for lunch. I can't help myself, and I hear that admitting to your addiction is the first step to recovery. I don't know whether to thank Kent or curse the day he was born! Here's Kent & Bobby Flay doing a CFS Throwdown on YouTube.

Kent Rollins SOS is really good, made it with deer. Forgot to grab Texas Toast and had to sub a wild game seasoning for his Red River Ranch, but did have a dog watching me like a hawk.:D

Update, the Texas Toast does make it even better.

The creamed beef we had when I was in the Army wasn't "chipped", it was made with ground beef. Still good though and one of my favorite parts of my favorite Army meal (breakfast).

A few years back I found a website with military recipes and creamed beef was on it. You could choose the number of mouths to feed and it automatically scaled the ingredients accordingly (so you weren't making enough to feed an infantry company!). Makes me hungry thinking about it, I'll have to dig it out. When my wife and I make it we make a big pot of it, eat what we want, then freeze the rest.

I hand-wrote a couple notes to the side for "perfection":
*extra bullion
*total of 3/4 cup of flour
*total 3 cups of milk
* "C-hair" more Worcestershire

* "C-hair" more

I know a surveyor who had some students out. He had a few on the instrument side(including an exchange student manning the radio), while the rodman side had a couple females.
The request for a slight adjustment on the rod got relayed in it's entirety. LoL
