I have one, and absolutely love it!

Mine is Pre-accutrigger, .308 WIN, with the 20 inch barrel!

I haven't yet changed the stock or trigger, btu I do plan to do both sometime in the future!

I used to have a similar model to yours, but I went with a Remington tuned by Iron Brigade Armory. Their Scope mounts are the sh^t!

I was at a show a little while back and saw a Savage .308 bolt gun with a folding stock. It seemed like an interesting unit. With the stock folded it was pretty short. I pondered over it slightly, but decided to not go with another novelty that would get no range time.

I've got a Savage 10FP 20" heavy barrel (pre-accutrigger as well). I absolutely love the thing. My dad had a little bit of work done to the trigger before I bought it from him, but it is essentially stock.

Even though I've bought a Rem. 700P to "replace" the Savage, I'll never get rid of it (unless I sell it back to my father).

I had a 10fp and it wasn't a bad rifle. The stock can be changed easily if you prefer wood. I ordered from Richards Microfit. You need to finish the stock and fit the barreled action but it resullts in a truly custom job. Some may think it a bit funny that the 10fp was replaced with a sporterized 1903A3 (it shoots teeny groups and looks dead gorgeous to boot.)

The scope is a Bushnell Scope Chief, 6x24x40! And amazingly enough, this scope is very nicely built and functions great!

Mine is in a thread somewhere down the list here. The only thing I'd change is the stock to McMillan when I get the chance and money. I'll change the barrel when it wears out too, but that is aways away.

I have a savage in .243. I replaced the stock with a Choate varminter. Some say the stock is too heavy, but to me it feels like the Anschutz I am used to.

I bought a barrel in .260 remington recently. Since I am a Grendel shooter, I figured I would load some bolt rounds with the same bullets.

With the .243 sporter barrel, I have gotten 1.5" groups at 200 yards. So, to me the platform works. The ease of changing barrels is a benefit as well.

I had a pre accu-trigger model 20" in .223. Absolutely loved the thing. I put a Choate Ultimate Varmiter on it and couldn't have been happier. It would absolutely drive nails and saying it was a shooter is under-rated. A close friend bought one (Accu-trigger) and is happier than blazes with it. I screwed up and priced mine and the guy took me up on the price. Needless to say....I'll definitely have another one!

I just got a 10 last week, it is in .308 and has heavy barrel and Bushnell Elite 3200 Mil dot fixed 10x scope.

Have not fired it yet, I only plan to buy a bipod and one of those buttstock ammo sleeves for it.

Other than that it will remain in its original configuration.

I have a Savage 10FP in .308 and I love it! I think for the money they are one of the best rifles out of the box. I'm shooting 1/2 M.O.A at 100 yards and only had the chance to shoot bowling pins at 300 yards.

The only thing I changed on her was the stock, I went ahead and picked up a Duramax stock from midwayusa when they were on sale.

I have a 110FP in .308, older model so I installed a Canjar trigger, topped with a 10x Super Sniper, and a Harris bi-pod.

1/2 MOA,or better, with Sierra 168gr. #2200 bullet a Reloader 15 powder.

Fantastic rifle for those on a budget.

I got mine almost ten years ago. I saw it on display at Wal-Mart while I was waiting for new tires on my truck. Back then nobody made a aftermarket trigger for the Savage except Canjar, and I had to wait about five months for it.

No pics handy, but it is pretty much box-stock.

With the miracle of pillar bedding like Savage uses, a new stock will not make it shoot better. However the very first 110 tactical models had very soft stocks to the point where they would touch the barrel - no good.

But if you, or anyone does restock, be sure to torque the pillar screws to 65 inch pounds for optimum performance.

Mine is pre-accutrigger, so it needs a new stock eventually.

It doesn't touch if I am not holding the rifle, however, when I lay down with it, I am concerned that it is no longer free floating. To put it nicely, the stock is garbage.

I like my OEM stock because it works, and my wallet isn't two "C" notes lighter.

Concerned about your stock touching the barrel? Well, what do you see? My stock isn't garbage, just not fancy-pants like McMillans. I got to admit, pimping guns is fun ...

New to this forum. I was on the old one. Anyway, mine is a Savage 10FP in 308 with a 24 inch barrel. I use a Choate Ultimate Sniper stock. A really nice stock at a reasonable price. Mine also has the Accu-Trigger which I love. This rifle, I believe, is the best bang for the buck available. The whole setup minus the bi-pod was $900.

Here is a photo of my Savage 10FP Tactical in 223. It has a Choate Tactical stock, Basix trigger and a KWM bolt handle. The rifle is very accurate for the price.:cool:

Not a 10 but I've got a Savage 110 long action in .308, pre 2003 so it doesn't have the accutrigger but the factory trigger sets up very nicely to a crisp 3lbs.

Choate ultimate sniper stock, Harris bipod, Super Sniper 10x Mildot optics with Leupold rings and mount.

A lot of you are using the Ultimate Sniper Stock from Choate, I like the looks of it, however; the grip area is far too large for me.

I am considering one of the newer Medalist tactical stocks from Bell and Carlson.

I picked up a 10FP HS Precision back in July w/accu-trigger. Added a Leupold 3.5x10 Long range iIlluminated TMR, leupold mark 4 rings, and Harris Bipod. This thing is incredible. Took it out for a long range class down at Quantico and did a 5 shot group at 600 yrds under 4.75 inches. Under 1 MOA at 1,000 yards but I need to learn how to read the wind at that range :confused: Not bad the first time out with this gun and no experience at all shooting long range. Needless to say, I am pleased with this gun:D

i have the 10fpxp with the hs precision stock. i wish i could shoot to the rifles true capability, being it is my first bolt gun . try shooting quarters or pennies at 600 yards . a couple of buddies of mine have the 10 fp with the mcmillan stock and theyre also great rifles .for a factory stock rifle you cant beat them !!

i've done it with the 10xpfp with leupold markiv . now it took some effort and about two and a half boxes of 168 gr. federal match but i was able to hit the quarter and penny . not dead center shots but id say the outer 3rd of both peices of change .

I Have two Savages. One is a 10 FP in .308 24" barrel. The other is a 10 FPLE .223 with a 20" barrel. Love them both. Both have the accu triggers. The .308 has a B&C stock. The .223 has the factory Choate stock. Both serve their purpose. IOR 4-14x50 on the .308 and a Nikon 4.5-14 on the .223.

I have a Savage 10FP with an accutrigger.

Incoming for it is a USO SN3 T-PAL and a McMillan A5 stock.Accushot monopod is already on it and so is a crappy Barska.Ill post a pic when it's together.Oh yeah,I forgot about the 762SD suppressor as well.:cool:

I have a Savage 110FP in .308 (pre-accu trigger) that I had purchased back in 1996 for under $400. I don't remember how many rounds I have shot through it (I have to find my log and add it up) but this gun absolutely loves the 175-grain HPBT Sierra Matchkings. If I do my part, will print 1/4 MOA at 100 yards all day.

I upgraded the trigger quite a few years back with a "Sharpshooter" trigger and it has made a huge difference. I had originally topped it off with a Tasco 10x42mm "Super Sniper" (which is now busted). I have not shot this rifle in a couple of years but am hoping to save up enough on a Leupold scope and for the ammo one of these days.

It rides in a Choate "Ultimate Sniper" stock which I hope to replace with a McMillan stock someday. I cannot say enough about how happy I am with this rifle and have absolutely no problems recommending Savage rifles to anyone. YMMV.

Me too. Plus I found the stippling a bit too aggressive which is why I took a Dremel tool to it. I probably would have preferred a better stock (IE: H&S, McMillan, etc.) but at the time this was all I could afford.

Plus you can switch barrels and bolt head for something different. .308 to a .223 or the other way around without alot of problems or special tools. Barrel nut wrench,barrel vise and vise.

I have one of these that I have been looking for a good stock for a while. Does anyone make a thumbhole stock similiar to the Accuracy Intl AICS for these? I think a Savage in an AI AICS would be one hell of a good shooter.

I have one of each. I use the 6-9 more. Get the swivel models.That way it isnt a pain in the ass to get it level on unlevel ground.

I have a 20" one in 223 that Savage marketed as the "4x4" or Truck Gun. It shoots pretty well but has stock is really to flexible to get the best out of it.

Same here. 6-9" S model with Pod Lock. I picked up my second precision bolt gun from a good friend on this board. Rem 700 LTR in 308. I still like the trigger and the bolt handle better on the Savage by a long shot;) I think the Rem action is a little smoother and I like the floor plate on the Remington better. Overall, I still think the Savage gives me slightly more bang for the buck than the LTR...

This is my first post in this forum. It's great to hear of all these folks having such great luck with the Savage 10FP rifles! Very encouraging, since I just ordered one.

I'm waiting on a Savage 10FLP (the LH model) in .308, which is being customized with a brake, an aftermarket stock, oversize bolt handle, and a few other extras, by Stockade Gun Stocks. My stock is the "Woodchuck" model, pictured on this page (http://www.stockadegunstocks.com/stocks.html).

Accue trigger model in .308. Leupold VX II 3-9. My first 3 shots for group off a backpack/bench at 100m using Port Surplus- I could cover them with a quarter, two were touching, I am not a rifleman.

Savages may be ugly with flimsy plastic stocks in their entry level models-but...does anyone know anyone who owns a savage that won't shoot 1 moa out to 400 all day long?

Yea I got one its the 10FCP Mcmillan .308 its a A-5 Mcmillan stock, with detachable mag, I bought it stock, then I sent the stock back to Mcmillan and had a three way adjustable butt stock, adjustable cheek piece, decelerator pad installed, and painted olive green. It also have a GG&G accucam integral ring base, badger ordanance 20 MOA 1913 rail and harris BR bi-pod, all i need is the scope, and I will order one in about three to four weeks.
