A friend of mine recently Passed from Cancer, I'm helping his widow dispose of various items, Most of his firearms have been sold but she's at a loss about to deal with 50 plus years of reloading and 1911 pistol smithing tools and inventory.

Was curious of the best way to go about this , still in the middle of inventorying..

He was at one time a big game hunter, think trophy room from the movie RoadHouse, so he's got an odd assortment of items.

Ebay has a lot of policies that are stupid. I tried to sell a cheek riser for an AR-15 but because it was an item related to an AR-15 it violated their weapon policies.

Things over a certain weight that won't fit in a flat rate box you'll probably want to sell locally. I'd also consider selling as lots. Rather than individually list every spring, put together a group of 1911 parts that will fit in a flat rate box and sell the group on Gunbroker.

I would sell it on gun/hunting forums. I’d look at 24 hr campfire.

It would be a LOT of work to sort, label, and ship all that stuff, not to mention dealing with the inevitable scammers and bad actors that internet selling always seems to muster. As opposed to calling an auctioneer and having them take care of it. The difference is going to be cost vs convenience.

I'd start by calling your local auctioneer or whatever and seeing what they would charge, and it they'd even be interested. This kind of stuff is not typically the kind of thing most auctioneers would be interested in. Around here, anyway.

I would go the selling in lots route also, ***BUT*** look through it first and see if there are any high dollar pieces mixed in. Not good form to sell a pre-war S&W screw driver for $2.

If I had it I would get a table at the next gun show and sell it for ten cents on the dollar. No question about doing lots. Take the tumbler and fill it recoil springs and sell it for 40-50 bucks. Make them take something they don't want to get what they do. Pour the gunpowder down the drain.

Don't get so excited yet. If it one of the 50 or so Dick sold it could bring 5-6K if unfired. Anybody else's.. A thou tops. Not sure anyone still make ammunition for it It is NOT 45ACP brass necked down.

both has been fired, it's my understanding that Herb Hazen(recently deceased) worked with Dick Casull to develop this particular firearm, & yes the ammunition is no longer commercially available

I would think the older colorful box onhttps://www.etsy.com/search/vintage?term=vintage_ammo_box&q=ammo+box&page=1&page_type=market&vintage_rewrite=vintage+ammo+box&orig_facet=&original_query=2 the left would be worth more the than the cartridges it contains. Not so the later white box.
