A New Jersey man is waiting to find out whether he'll ever get his guns back, after the government seized his firearms and ammunition under the state's new red flag law at the behest of his former doctor who sued him for defamation.

It doesn't seem completely rational to call someone who's currently suing you for defamation and mention "you know where they and their attorney live," neither does begging the same doctor who's suing you to continue treating you.

A more disturbing Red Flag case out of Martha's Vineyard, that I don't remember seeing posted here:

https://www.mvtimes.com/2019/10/11/crossing-guard-relieved-duty-guns-seized/

84 year old Korean War Vet and retired LEO Stephen Nichols was suspended and had is firearms and CCW license confiscated after a waitress overheard what was essentially him criticizing the SRO at the school where he worked as a crossing guard. The man spend 60 years working for the local PD and they still did this to him without hesitation.

He's since been re-instated as a crossing guard, but I haven't seen where he's had his firearms or CCW license returned.

2nd death in MD when our government protecting us from our-self.

very poorly written, short of specifics, typical of Red Flag Laws.

I find it funny that people still say

Lemp's family released a statement Thursday night saying they are grieving and plan to investigate hiss death and hold those responsible accountable.
knowing good and well it won't happen.
I feel bad for the family, but what do you expect living in that environment?
It is an unconstitutional law and the cops enforcing it prove my point that none of them know right from wrong. They will do what they are told to get a paycheck.
Showing up at 4:30am to steal somebody's property, what could possibly go wrong?
This is the second death in 4 months and should show that this "law" is not working and also who you can count on to violate your rights and or end your life.

As I said when these first came up,
There are already ways to involuntarily commit someone when they are a threat to self or Others.

This is just a new way to abuse and harass gun owners with zero responsibility of the flagger and will result in repeated bad outcomes.
