just picked up nib colt 6600 sporter if I don't plan on shooting this right now should I oil it or leave it as is (dry)

You could run a light coat of CLP in the barrel. People tend to get too assed up about storing guns.

If they're kept in a dry, climate controlled environment, you really don't need to do anything.

Your gun needs to be swimming in oil or some other type of protectant such as Break Free Collector.
