JP captured guide rod/spring ?

Any first hand knowledge on this set up? I see were one can remove the buffer retainer pin which could be source of trouble. Anyone know of an hard use reports?

I have a couple on range/competition guns.
They're run hard with several K rds. on each. Subjectively they contribute to shooting pretty flat, but I'm an experimenter/looking for an edge kinda' guy.

No problems to date.
