Been a hell of a year. Next year will either be better or worse.
I staunchly believe that black folks and trannies will save the 2A while the Country music fat kid gun guys with SKSes will kill it forever.

But this isn’t that thread. This is the thread to eat and enjoy your loved ones. Call your moms if they still alive. Eat. Get buzzed but not drunk. Make love.

Because it’s all good.

Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis when I was dead broke, man I couldn’t picture this.

So.....keep ya head up.

Putting the bird in the barbecue, spending the day with my wife. No whining or negativity today, just grateful to be.

I never thought I would see the tree hugger cannibalism plan here ;)

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving!

At work, all the usual shitbirds took a trip off and I answered the phone. Going to be a 12+ hour day and I got basically no sleep since I’ve been waiting for the call all night.

Remember when you see a freight train hauling all sorts of hazardous materials that the crew is probably dead ass tired, and that their employer does not care about safety at all; not their crews’ and not the public either.

Have a good day gentlemen, enjoy your families.

Read about that and a co-worker has a family member that caught the crap end of the stick.

Hope there is some truth to rail road customers growing tired of getting charged more for less which may help you all out.

Happy Thanksgiving! I have so many things to be thankful for today, 2 of 3 sons will be home, get to play with my granddaughter, and the turkey already smells great.

Not to mention we are all pretty healthy, we have a new dog and I was promoted this year.

Just celebrated another deployed Thanksgiving but this time it was on a USNS in the S China sea somewhere. The cook on board is a legit chef and prepared an amazing dinner. I miss home but man it would’ve sucked if the food was terrible, bunch of things to be thankful for and there’s a silver lining to everything... it may not be what we want but there’s always one. Happy Thanksgiving guys.

This is my favorite holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving to all; and a special greeting that thank you to those who are celebrating at work or on duty, at home or abroad.

As for me, it’s turkey, squash soup, cranberry sauce, and relaxing with my wife’s family and my kids.
Wife and I just got in after a couple hours hunting; didn’t see a single deer, but the time spent in nature together was what was important.

And for you, Firefly:

About 18in. of snow so far and maybe another foot to go. Snowblowing good chunk of day. However, skiing is going to be fantastic!

Non-snowblowing time will be spent with wife and kids. Family is 2000 miles away. Still will be a good day. Have Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving on DVD so will watch that this afternoon.

Wanted to take HK E gun out to range, but area prob. has 3-4 ft. of snow at least.

Just tuned in to post basically the same thing. We handed off Thanksgiving to my son and his wife for the first time. We have over 3 acres to plow for our business. Son and I will start at midnight after the normal post-dinner nap. Turkey is going in my smoker, so I’m headed out to fire up the loader to get access to my house for them. Thankful for my great family and an adult son to share the work load.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191128/f6425ec5cc5a959c3cb0cfa5316e9d63.jpg

Me, I'm thankful for:
>Family, close friends and a long-term long-distance special someone who's stood by me through thick and thin across all the years and all the miles, even with the foreknowledge that things between us will more probably be For Poorer financially than Richer, and more In Sickness than Health.
>Never having known real need, nor really even want--virtually all of my problems in life have been "First World Problems" even within the rankings of FWP's, and usually even the big ones for me an mine work out pretty mild in the end.
>Being surrounded by good people who help me keep tacking along the straight and narrow path even if not precisely down it--providing the "heart" to balance my "brains." Generally better people than I am, and I'm thankful for all of those me hold myself to a higher standard than what my nature is to be.

This is a rough one--four friends who my ex and I owe our lives to lessons they taught us fell in the line of duty ten years ago almost to the day, so Thanksgiving is always tempered by the wonder about if a fifth, non-uniformed gun when that scumbag Cop Killer Vermin was only looking for Blues might have made a difference. Rest in peace, Mark, Ron, Tina and Greg, and know that you are not forgotten on This Side.

..... and still at work. Been here since 0600, now past my legal hours of service. Train is secured, dispatcher has forgotten we exist, now deep into overtime; radio silence is my new policy. My goal is to see if I can make this a $600 day.

Yet my employer wonders why no one wants to work holidays.

Coal- Hope you make it a $800 day.

What do you do for work?

Wife was up all night and gone most of day. Delivered 3 babies and 2 C-Sections along with rounds, etc. She didn't have a great Turkey Day.

Guessing by tone of posts you don't care for it? Always thought it might be a really cool job. Do you get to travel around the west? We live in northern UT and the scenery through the mtns. on a train must be breathtaking.

It’s OK, just not on holidays. Holidays are a total shit show.

I run from southwest SD to northeast WY. I could also work in some other places in my seniority district, but I like living in the Black Hills.

I firmly believe Caitlyn keeps a Baby Browning in a garter. Possibly a Semmerling.

I was serious though. “Gun guys” will kill 2A but yet, black folks and fit trannies will save it. I have it on good authority that Bailey Jay has a stash. We KNOW Natalie Mars has a Zastava M76

The gun guy fagwads with their Jason Aldean and cucked D list celebrities are our undoing.

Trap, the skreets, the rebirth of hip hop, and good vibes will save us.

Killer Bees, man. Killer bees.

This may be some whiskey but sometimes I unironically CCW Shurikens.

See folks call me a dreamer but I see a renaissance coming. We just gotta destroy the gatekeepers.

There is only one "gun guy" and his name was Jeff Cooper. All others are pretenders to the throne with goofy holds and "one size fits all" instruction.

Cooper laid down four simple commandments and people can't even do those right. Then you get Yeagertards talking about the 360 degree gun range and he violates every rule of gun safety and common sense, he is truly the antichrist and sadly there is not just one, they are legion.

But as much as I am on the same page as Colion Noir most of the time, he's become something of a Colin Powell (ironic name similarity) where he is the "well spoken black conservative" as if there is only one and he's some kind of novelty status. I also hate that we have to establish race and gender qualifiers to be taken seriously but the meritocracy will never happen.

Also I'm thinking Koreans. Koreans are the only people who have actually done a Boogaloo and they did it without the internet. They also did it on the fly without any police assistance of any kind and in the middle of occupied territory. When it comes to civie defenders in an urban environment where you are grossly outnumbered they are ****ing Delta. They pulled off shit Custer never imagined possible.

When the shooting community can pull of that level of effectiveness the war will be over. But currently we are debating which rail system is superior to the others, does every handgun now require a RDS and does this 3 day tactical backpack make my ass look big?

Also I can guarantee you not one of those Koreans had attended a Vickers class or any 1,000 round training program and I bet most didn't have LE or military experience. What they did have was everything invested into a single business that they were willing to defend with their lives. No disrespect to any of the SME's and guys offering us the benefit of their experience with classes and clinics, but it really is about motivation.

Those guys didn't give a shit about two stage triggers vs. stock trigger, they were too busy stacking bodies on the street. And while socialism is bullshit, we could learn a thing or two about "community" from the Korean example. Seriously how many people here would get on the rooftop of a strip mall and defend the shoes store because it's two stores over from your produce store? How many people would bring their kids?

For those who live in urban settings, you want to know the answers to these questions before you need to know the answer. Boog will never be North vs. South or Liberals vs. Conservatives or any of that nonsense. But if you live in LA, DC, Chicago, NYC, Miami or any other large urban area that shit can go flame on at any moment and you can find yourself surrounded. That is what a real world Boog is gonna look like, and most people aren't equipped to even begin to deal with that sort of thing let alone a nation wide civil war that they imagine they could win.

Watts (1965), King riots (1968), Rodney King riots (1992). That's what a real event will be like.

Oh and on topic, I'm THANKFUL I no longer live in or near a major urban area.

I know the feeling...working today as well. But with the bad comes the good, I am thankful I have a good job and do get 8 days off every 5 weeks as part of my normal rotation without use of vacation. I work 18 out of 35 days (5 week cycle).

Actually most of those roof Koreans were FOBs who had time as conscripts in the ROK Army. Even the Gangnam style guy had to join the army. Even the gayest looking Kpop boys gotta join the army.

That’s why a lot of them had Daewoo K2s. And they didn’t kill many people. In all honesty, their main virtue was their communication, organization, and loyalty to their own kind. I’ve been to three traditional Asian weddings in my sorry life and it’s not uncommon for there to be over a hundred people in attendance. They take stuff like dowry seriously and the main gift is money.

And that wasn’t a boogaloo. It was defense of property.

Jeff Cooper was okay but is dated AF. And that’s not what I mean by “gun guy”.

To me a “gun guy” is the guy who makes a scene about having guns and acts like if you don’t have “enough” guns or the right brand or if you say “yeah guns are great but I don’t care like that” they REEEEEEE their heads off and accuse you of not being a Republican (in my case they are correct) and want their echo chamber. They wanna tote rifles in the mall for no reason and play the 50 shades of FDE game.

It’s like Star Trek nerds but for guns. So much cringe.

I only associate with shooters, hoodrats, and Mandalorians as a result.

Well my point was, that kind of incident is as close to an actual Boog event as anyone is ever gonna see.

As for "gun guys", I copy.

Oh and btw, Cooper was the prophet and Browning was god.

Cooper was overrated and had an inflated sense of self worth.

So you think the guy who invented modern pistol craft is overrated?

Let me guess, you didn't always agree with Coopers corner and his specific world views?

Coal Dragger
11-29-19, 22:06
No his column was always interesting, but his haughty writing style and the anecdotal stories of people who met him (which seem to be consistent) paint a picture of a pompous ass.

Firefly
11-29-19, 22:26
Cooper forwarded (but did not exactly pioneer) some much needed pistolcraft during his day

BUT

He was smoking Jimson Weed and tripping Salvia when he:

-Called ARs poodle shooters
-Thought the best “scout rifle” was a bolt action with a LPVO
- Way overhyped the CZ-75 which after you get over the forbidden fruit aspect and it being Rally Vincent’s gun; is just a Browning High Power with extra steps

Like Mel Tappan he had an interesting narrative but at certain points; you also wondered if he actually tried to advance his shooting or just repeated stuff that sounded good.

By 1986, if you had a CAR-15 and a Glock; you were ahead of your time.

The problem with guns is that attracts a LOT of blowhards.

The worst thing people do to themselves is try to buy proficiency with gadgets.

But “Go shoot and exercise” isnt sexy enough for Guns and Ammo

Briefly on Colion Noir, since he was brought up, I actually have found recently that I am starting to like the guy again. I don't really get his taste it guns, and NRA TV just plain sucked, but he showed his true colors after the almost boogaloo in NY. Dude just shut up and waited for the facts. No "it looks good, but let's wait for more." Just no comment, waited to see what it was really about. I wish everyone was that calm and collected. He hasn't made a police video in a long time either. I'm ok with being critical of LE but when you sprinkle in the race card and talk about how you got FA'd by the cops for being black, true or not, seems hokey and isn't relative to a story that happened 1700 miles away from where that occurred. But lately, even if repetitive, I like him. He makes good videos for anti gunners and people on the fence about guns. Aww

On the more direct topic;
I am just happy to be alive and to actually have a holiday off. Usually it means forced OT but I was happy to go see family all day Thursday. We buried my dad's Vietnam vet uncle yesterday and got go play catch up with cousins I haven't seen in over 15 years. Funny how death can bring us all together.

Every day is a gift and any moment could be your last. I guess I am most thankful to be here and to be happy. At the end of the day, people come into our lives and leave at random. Some have a profound impact, some do not. Really, we gotta have that inner peace. You wanna help others? Help yourself man. It's amazing the impact you create with positivity.

Looking at this psa sale ad that came in the newspaper, I suddenly realized that I am fortunate to have the expendable income I do. I mean, I knew, but it kinda struck me.

The door buster is $600 for a PSA rifle with a Holosun optic. And while that’s pretty cheap for an ar15 with an optic, its still a big chunk of money, for someone to just have burning a hole in their pocket. I’m not knocking it, and if its all someone can buy, it still counts as arming the public. Buy one and come shooting with us. Seriously. Post in the SC training forum.

I’m thankful to be able to choose the rifles I want. There’s more to it than this, but since its a gun forum and all...

I’m also thankful for my friends and coworkers. Thanks for picking up the shifts, so that those with families could be home, and thanks for the chow.

Thankful for the double time and a half for working thursday, that I spent on an optic.

Thankful that I live in the South and won’t have to mess with snow until Jan, if at all.

Thankful for this Jager Scharf.
