I formed 1 a SBR back in 2009. I move across state lines in 2011. At the time of my move, the SBR upper had been sold and I only have the lower. I also had a 5320.20 filled out for the state we moved to for temporary tracks since my family lived in the state. I fell away from AR’s with kids being born and no time for the hobby. I do not think I ever did a permanent address change on a 5320.20. I also never bought another SBR upper for that register lower. I now want to build a new upper for it but I am wondering if I need to now update with a 5320.20 before I do it. How would I even fill this out now that I moved 8 years ago?

I would submit the form as a present permanent change to my present address and drive on. The more you stir, the worse it smells.

submit the form 20 via mail, fax, or email and buy what you need...

You do you, but it seems like you care more about this than they do at this point.

ATF doesnt care. This is correct and my experience, as well.

What date do you put on the 5320.20 then? The day you originally moved the item or some date a few weeks after you sign you it?

Just put current. Doesnt matter. They actually mailed me mine to my new address that I'd already moved to, and laughed about it (literally, they called to confirm, and chuckled. They truly dont care.)

During the past ten years you’ve almost certainly paid taxes and your address in various government databases has been updated. I bet they could have found you if they were really worried about it. [emoji3]
